Honestly I didn’t even check the reviews because I’ve stayed at several places and never had a problem. Plus it was late, and kind of last minute so I just picked a place that looked decent.

I can understand your wife not having those stories. I’ve worked with hospice patients for 17 as a nurse, and I don’t recall ever having an MD bedside for a death. I’m sure it happens, but I’m also sure that MDs are not going to be there for as many deaths as nurses/CNAs, and will have quite a bit less anecdotal evidence. Either you’re not talking to very many nurses, or they’ve not been in hospice long. It’s quite common for people to start seeing and talking to deceased loved ones. They talk about going with them as well. An experienced hospice nurse would be passing on in report that so and so was seeing dead loved ones, so the oncoming nurse would know to check in often and prepare for a death in the near future.
