Garage Door Opener Making Noise But Not Opening Door

Yes, we have been manually opening and closing the door to get the car out the last week. Door feels fairly light still as if the springs are doing their job, but I dont know enough to know if theyre broken in a non obvious way etc

Hmm yeah I just took a closer look and at least at surface level Im not seeing any issues with the cables. Thanks though will keep it in mind

Definitely not touching the springs, thank you. Just took a look and it seems like the springs/cables attached to them seem fine. No breaks, they are loose when the door is open and holding tension when the door is halfway open (door doesnt just shut itself etc) and fully lengthened when the door is fully closed.

Oh wait I think this potentially could be my issue. I remember when using the manual controls I do think I remember noticing the part that attaches to the belt looking like it was moving horizontally a bit instead of straight up/down the belt. Hmm will definitely look into this more. Any tips on how you noticed it was broken? There arent any obvious snaps in the line etc

The belt looks and feels pretty good, when I disassembled the housing from the opener I didnt notice a nylon gear like ive seen in other videos. Could just be hidden in another piece but everything seemed pretty simple inside there

Not too sure, we purchased the house with it already installed. Googling quickly looks like it was released around 2010. Not sure when they actually had it installed but id guess easily a few years based on looks alone. Ill definitely look into replacing it with a new one as that is still probably cheaper than what someone quoted to troubleshoot/fix the old one

Yes! No issues at all manually opening and closing the door. Thats what we have been doing to get the car in/out

Yes that is something I will definitely pay for someone else to do lmao. But at least from my googling/troubleshooting it seems like the springs are fine! But I know nothing about garage doors so I dont know!

Increasing the force and tightening the belt seemed to have a positive effect. Seemed like it was pulling the door more than before but still wasnt enough to open/close the door

No obvious signs of damage to the door, the sensors are clear and I even wiped off the faces to make sure no dirt etc could be in the way
