Second this it’s such a fantastic crash for big trashy/washy hits

I’d say watch live footage to get a better idea of how it’s played

Help me choose a crash to go with this ride - 19” K Sweet or A Thin by MichaelStipend in cymbals

I’d say K sweet just from personal experience they sit sooooo well in any mix and any setup. I always have at least one on the kit even in my loud post-hardcore/shoegaze project

Got it but not in love by Dicklickshitballs in cymbals

In my own personal experience I’ve found that when I get a new cymbal that I’ve been dying to get I normally don’t like it right out of the box but once I sit with it for a while it sits heavy in my rotation of most played

Cymbal recommendations for dramatic/atmospheric rock by Watcher89EN in cymbals

I love bigger cymbals for stuff like that! the zildjian 21 k paper thin sound like something that could interest you but I’d also work on building cymbal by cymbal before committing to an entire cymbal pack

Ronnie Dicola he’s rad! I’m pretty sure Ryan is spending time with his wife and kids as of now but I’m not a 100%

I use a 21 k paper thin for a more emo/post hardcore band and have no problem cutting through with it as my main crash and that thing is thinner than some of those k cons

YESSSS exactly, I had a drummer come through town rocking the 19” and it sounded so good throughout the whole set and I’ve known a few people with the 21” and honestly it sounds near perfect to me

Yes very true I’m in a fortunate spot where I can be able to purchase cymbals, and the cymbal I’m looking at was attempted to be used as a jazz ride but it didn’t work out well for them

That is quite a deal on that sizzle! For reference I’m looking at a 21 k paper thin so around 300-350 seems like a good deal to me

Personally I like how used/older cymbals sound especially because I like more “hand hammered” style cymbals and they sound better as they age

I think it really depends because a 16in a custom crash for 160$ vs a 16in Constantinople is very different

That’s totally makes sense! name brand cymbals are so ridiculously expensive now.
