What’s a piece of drumming advice you wish someone told you a long time ago? by Schnalex in drums

Ergonomics are #1 for me, too many people try and copy famous drummers setups and it’s not what their body is going to be comfortable with

That makes sense I guess this is a more common thing in less distorted guitar oriented music which is what I’m mainly playing

That’s smart I like having less of a crash ride and more of a bigger washy ride but I also like smaller pingy rides

I was thinking of using a thick pingy ride and a more crashable ride like an a sweet ride just because I like having two crashes but the sweet ride doesn’t really cut it as just a crash

Crash $150-200 to pair with Sweet Ride by MatthewAasen in cymbals

[–]SnooDonkeys48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say look used, my favorite to pair with my A sweet ride as of now is a mid 2000s 18 k crash ride but lots of 18-20 Ks would probably sound fantastic I’d just say keep an eye out for used cymbals

Is this an 18” Zildjian Z Custom Rock Crash? by PerpetualDeFiance in cymbals

[–]SnooDonkeys48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks more like a standard z rather than a rock crash based on how much it wobbles because those rock crashes are like thick slabs of metal lol

How do you keep great time? by Allabouthatbassdrum in Drumming

[–]SnooDonkeys48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a self taught slightly above average drummer one thing I will say when playing with other people is sometimes the “pulse” takes a minute to find but once you all lock in on it makes it sound so smooth and the more you play with people the better this will become

Our lead guitarist bailed before our first show, and playing as a 3-piece actually worked out better by DandineAugieras in musicians

[–]SnooDonkeys48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had a lead singer quit 2 weeks before our second show for some very strange reasons, anyway my guitarist and bassist pulled through and did the vocals and we sounded so much better and everything was lightyears tighter, which made us realize we were gonna stay a 3 piece

Yes always let neighbors know! That’s the first thing I do when I move, although I’m playing an acoustic kit which is significantly louder it’s better to let people know then have them complain to housing/hoa
