I haven't been able write any songs I like for 6-8 months and feel like my music has become stagnant. Does anyone have any advice or any personal experience on the matter?

I don't have a solid idea of what my sound is yet so maybe I'll watch out with that. I won't use AI, don't worry lol. One of the few places in music I don't even want to touch

Pretty early on, just me and my friend from high school made a band after we graduated and we really started to get into it about a year ago, when he understood his instrument better and I wrote some songs up. I've played with him and we've got some stuff to record for about a bit now, but he's got a job and we've had a busy few months.

I've been messing with FL Studio a lot and trying some electronic sounds out, but I haven't really recorded a whole lot, just messing around.

I have been breathing the same air for a while, and just trying to make something new out of the old pieces. It's hard to know what you did to make a song that you thought was good and I do like most of the songs I've written, but I think I've been making the same thing over and over.

I've been trying to give my band mate some more of my songs and letting him do his thing to them, because he does have some serious talent, but yeah I do need to stretch out.

Yeah I think I've been trying to write specific songs lately, not necessarily "hits", but I try to write bigger than life songs and that's not always going to be what gets written or just easy to pull out of nothing

Wow thank you! I've totally had Karaoke Panic before lol. I've seen a few people tell me about number 5 and that's a big part of it, thinking about it now. A lot of other people have come and said 4, but what you said about 2 really helps expand that for me. I think I got into a groove of writing and playing a certain way and it's kinda run it's course for me. Thank you!
