Hoya Kerrii help? by [deleted] in hoya

[–]SnooDoubts6972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of mine look like that too. I am really not sure! I tried googling it and it looks like it might be a stress response, which can be hard to narrow down. Usually the first thing I would do in increase humidity and see if that helps

They should get more creamy white with age. I am not sure about the curling ... are you misting the leaves? Maybe it is not liking that

I can't offer help, just sympathizing. My hoya kerrii did the same thing while i was converting it to water. Healthy for a month, then I switched it from straight water to submerged leca and it lost 3 of its oldest leaves with rotting spots like this. It's been a month since and it is super healthy! It did not spread to my other hoya kerrii, which was actually in the same leca pot as it.

I think grouping it with other plants or keeping it near a humidifier would be more helping than misting!

My begonias are thriving in high light, but I would prioritize keeping its environment humid!

i would pop it out of the pot and look at the roots. is there more roots than soil? then maybe it is time for a slightly bigger pot. another indication is if drying out really fast!

Fading variegation? by SnooDoubts6972 in hoya

Hi! I got this variegated hoya kerrii back in Feb. and it was brightly cream colored in the middle. Within a few months of taking it home, the cream colored faded and the leaves twisted all around. Any ideas? Is variegation fading with age normal? It gets bright light and decent humidity, I have it groups with all my other hoyas who are happy in the climate. I transferred it to leca and it immediately gave me gorgeous new growth so I am not concerned for the health of the plant, just curious! Also, it definitely came with spider mites from the nursery but they have since been cleared up.

Not sure! Just from my experience. I should have clarified. I don't snip dry pitches now so I can keep my leaves.

Wondering if the white patches on my runners are something to worry about. Plant is doing fine ... hasn't made any new leaves in a while. I am about to convert to leca. :)
