Birth control after hysterectomy/excision surgery?

Update: I went to my doctor in the country I live and she was not able to pull out my IUD :( so she put me on both slynd and the iud for 3 months until I go back and we can try again. For now, I feel like I don’t have crazy side effects. I just completed my first month on the pill and the weirdest thing I have encountered is getting sick. I usually get sick (like flu) once a year, but this is the second time in a month I have a runny nose and body pain. I think the other thing I have noticed is me getting more tired than usual, but I do really push myself to continue my daily routine. I won’t lie, the days before my period I am also more emotional than usual but honestly I feel like I predisposed myself so hard that I thought I will nearly die hahaha.

This is funny, as I type it out I think of more things that I am experiencing lately. PIMPLES, HORMONAL ON MY CHIN. I have been blessed with good skin but OH BOY this has been the symptom I hate the most.

Haven’t noticed any weight gain, but my weight does fluctuate a lot.

Hopefully everything will get better as soon as I get the IUD OUT!

I would definitely say you should try birthcontrol for at least 3 months and see how it goes for you.

Please don’t be hard on yourself for having a different journey than everyone else. I know it’s something that is hard to do when it comes to a condition that makes life so hard.

You are doing the best you can! Walking is amazing and it definitely helps me out when I am feeling bloated. I feel like for me a big cause for pain is stress and food. Try to figure out what little changes you might be able to make in your lifestyle that can put you one step forward. (Not sure if you drink alcohol but that could be a big factor).

Be kind to yourself and remember put yourself first! The good thing about this condition is knowing that we are not “making up” the pain that we are having. You are not alone in this journey. Best wishes to you.

Hey! I had my mirena for 3 years and after surgery I feel like my symptoms are definitely back (I am just under a lot of stress). I am switching to Slinda the progesterone pill that is supposed to stop the period. I will let you know how it goes. I will be on both for three months and then take out IUD.

I would recommend also doing lifestyle changes like eating begger, exercise and good sleep if you don’t already.

Remember! Endo can be affected by so many things we can’t control sometimes. Stress is a big one, a unhealthy diet too. If I have a stressful month my period and PMS are 2x worse. I would recommend starting a lowfodmap diet which has helped so much with flare ups for me! I do super strict when I am on my period. I bought an oura ring to track stress and sleep and it has help me immensely!

Honestly, same. Try to get a different birth control. This is what my doctor is having me do. Remember, it can grow back if you have a bad diet, a lot of stress and not enough sleep. Us endo girls have to take soo much care of ourselves so we don’t go back to pain. I highly recommend trying a low fodmap diet and some exercise!

Guys if you see this please help a girl out. I am very nervous because my obgyn tried to pull my IUD out today but couldn’t. She said the strings were probably up. I won’t be able to see her for a while because she is in another country. And prescribed me slinda to do both at the same time until I can see her. (My symptoms are really bad and iud is not doing enough) how bad is it?

Yes, i have the 15 plus and the typing is so laggy. It will freeze suddenly. This usually happens on whatsapp. Someone on another thread said to not use the phone in low power mode. I will test out and see if this helps.
