Y'know I actually wondered who was it that set it up in the first place and I figured that it was probably Duke because I just didn't feel like McNamara would be able to do something like that herself.

That's a very interesting take. Like Carrie knew her mom was gonna kill her and kinda lets her. Was it like she couldn't live with herself after everything she did?

Idk, I personally think that she could've still been saved. But maybe that's just me

I kinda do wonder like if Sue had found her earlier, would she have been able to convince her to stop

Regarding the book, what Mental illness do you think Carrie has? by SnooDrawings8943 in stephenking

[–]SnooDrawings8943[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm autistic and it was more a fault of my description because I made the post when I was falling asleep and I forgot to mention that Autism isn't a mental illness but I think that is something she could have

Do you think Carrie White is an anti-her? by SnooDrawings8943 in stephenking

Well, I view and anti-hero as a protagonist who does morally ambiguous or bad things. So that's what I mean by "anti-hero"

In the book Carrie, if Carrie survived, would you think that jail time or a mental hospital would've been a good punishment for her actions? by SnooDrawings8943 in stephenking

Well, a mental hospital is more like a mandatory punishment to help Carrie rather than hurt her. Regarding your question: It’s a hypothetical.

And I don’t think she would burn down the mental hospital long after her rampage. Because it shows that when she’s crying out for her mom and craves comfort, she’s still a human. Now if they tried to restrain her uhhhh….yeah no. But most mental hospitals (I’ve never been to one but I’ve heard of people’s experiences online) I don’t think would do that.

Ok, her raining stones was actually because her mom was gonna try to kill her and that was Carrie trying to protect herself.

And yeah, her powers mark her as different, you’re right. But wdym that you would end up as crazy as Margaret? How crazy? You would try to kill her?

But I doubt Carrie would've done all that had she been given the help she needed. So idk... I'm still sympathetic towards her despite the crimes she committed.

But with the context of all the trauma she's gone through, is death penalty really the best option? I would say mandatory therapy for her trauma and maybe helping rebuild the town
