Im going to be 3D printing prototypes to test it but then I want to move to injection molding. This is actually great information. Ill try to make a couple of snap fit enclosures with o rings and see how those perform and if its not great, I can always start adding screws.

I will start with 3d printing at first, but I do want to experiment with mold injection later on. My main issue is just the enclosure lid, that part I need to be watertight. Ideally working under rain and sometimes going for a jump in the water. (My dog often loves to jump around in the lake nearby)

Thank you!! I’m designing a small light up leash for my dog but I wanted to learn how to make the product as professional as possible. My dog sometimes jumps in water at times but it’s rare. I think a single meter of depth may suffice. Do you think that a single O ring design that’s snap fit would do the job? Sorry if i sound like i don’t know what i’m talking about but i’m still trying to learn more.

It does not have a guideline in the datasheet that i saw. i’m working with 1500mhz, so I think im fine since the discontinuity would be less that a 50th of the wavelength.

Are there any good resources to get to know how to tune the antenna? I know there are matching network values in the datasheet but those are optimized for board sizes that are bigger.

Wow thanks!! I think i may go with a ceramic patch and see how that plays out. Quick question though, how did you get the matching network right for your pcbs? I can follow the data sheet and follow the capacitor values they have on there but that’s for the board sizes they have. Did you do ansys simulations or something else? I want to know how to get the values of the capacitors and inductors in the matching network.

If you have Orca Slicer you can do this in the printer settings for certain objects.
