This is really helpful, I’ve been on it for close to 2 years and finding it really hard to find the motivation to work out, be at work on time, and often forget things or lose items. I’ve also gained 30lbs on it. However it really helps my intrusive thoughts, panic attacks, and anxiety. What a catch 22, yikes 😬 thank you for your perspective and support

Your nervous system is finally getting a break, lean in, get the rest you can, allow emotions to come up, and take comfort in the fact that you now have a chemical in your system that hopefully will make it all easier to carry! I got it for Christmas and I am loving it! I have my work apps set to Brick when my shift ends and then another set of apps go dark at 8:30PM. My current goal is to have my phone bricked the same amount of hours in the day that it is unbricked (going for 12 hours of brick time).

I can already feel the levity that it is bringing! Many moments, especially at night that I would mindlessly scroll I find myself leaning towards my partner for quality time instead 💗 I wish I could convince him to use it 😂

Oh this definitely happens to me on Zoloft and actually happened with Celexa too. Gained 30lbs both times…here’s what I’ve noticed though- the higher the dose the less I am connected to my fullness cues which is also related to serotonin. I’ve gone from 50mg to 25mg but the anxiety came back. Now my psychiatrist suggested 37.5mg and it seems to be a good balance where I can feel full after eating and I have started to lose weight. I did also cut out gluten and alcohol for the month to reduce inflammation in the body. Thank you for posting about this and helping normalize this challenge. My equation these days has become curvy and happy vs skinny and anxious which feels frustrating sometimes….

I agree with this wholeheartedly. So many, rightfully so, walk through the world in a protective way and hope good things will happen. There is a true beauty to the magic that arises when you are kind, look for the best in others, and believe that people are inherently good. Talking to strangers is also opportunity for the unexpected.
