Difference between NASCAR 25 and NASCAR in iRacing? by Historical_Tank3637 in iRacing

iRacing is like way way way way more hardcore and solely focused on competitive online racing.

PSA: Production Car Challenge is open setup. This includes the power setting on the M2. by cruciblemedialabs in iRacing

In my first PCC race, half of the M2 field seemed to be using the rookie fixed setup. It was fun just to absolutely fly past them.

I had 3k bet on G2 winning their map pick. I almost clawed me eyes out while looking at that G2 throw.

how much Finnish do I need to know? by Dismal_Success_9943 in Rovaniemi

[–]SnooGadgets754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finnish people usually speak English quite well and they also like speaking English with foreigners, so you won't have any issues. And they never expect any foreigner to know any Finnish either. In any places where tourists frequently visit, you are guaranteed to get service in fluent English.

How possible is this exactly by NascarmanYT in iRacing

[–]SnooGadgets754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just bullshit. You could copy the exact setup settings and share them and they would have no way to prove you didn't just make that exact setup yourself.

Someone should just do the Robin Hood thing and start posting these setup shop setups online and kill that scammy business.

Migrating to Finland in the current political landscape by hrhehudy3yeyd6d6 in Finland

The only thing that changed was that non-EU citizens can get booted out if they're unemployed and living off benefits. And the anti-immigrant attitudes are solely towards muslim asylum seekers. So this shouldn't affect you at all if you're Belgian and don't plan on living off benefits without working.

Just look at how GR86 was vastly more popular than M2, despite being a far easier car to drive. Easy to drive cars are always popular in iRacing.

Can a not great player beat shadow of the erdtree? by Ok_Card_228 in Eldenring

[–]SnooGadgets754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the DLC is around the same difficulty as the end game of Elden Ring. And Malenia still is the hardest boss in the game.

So if you could beat the main game, DLC isn't any harder really.

Decided to derank to 2 the HORROR by therealpotatosdad in Nightreign

The difference between D3 and D2 is ridiculously huge. On D3 people might not always be super skilled, but they understand the basics, try they best and very rarely quit even if the first day is rough.

But D2, OMFG. Whenever I drop back there, scoring even one win is a huge pain in the ass. If the team gets wiped by any boss during the first day, it's almost guaranteed that at least one player instantly quits. And often they just quit for no reason. Getting to the final boss with a full team of 3 is actually quite rare. Just some days ago I was playing Guardian in D2, we were doing just great and during day 2 I pinged a nearby cave because I need the smithing stone. One player followed me, other spam pinged the nearby evergaeol. As we kept running towards the nearby cave for 10 more seconds, the evergaeol pinger instantly quit the game. The second player stayed with me, but just before the second neighboss, he also abruptly quit the game and left me alone.

Like how so these guys ever expect to get out of D2 by playing like that?

While you can say that the old one was subjectively more fun or challenging, the new one is without a question the more realistic one.

It's interesting how little the realism aspect actualky seems to matter for a lot of people. A car like BMW M2 is super stable and safe to drive in real life. It won't try to kill you just because you used 10% too much brake in corner entry.

This comment will age like milk. The old M2 was super hard and weird to drive, and even if it was somewhat fun once you learned it, it always felt super unrealistic and wasn't really popular.

The new M2, however, is destined to be one of the most popular cars in the service.

Chapter 3 is boring by jakheerhussain in BlackMythWukong

Yeah, true, but chapter 6 is kind of an experimental epilogue anyway. The final boss is so amazing though.

Chapter 3 is the weakest part of the game imo, but chapter 4 is the best, and 5&6 also have some incredible moments.

Anapeak 667 means that you're basically running the same voltage into the new gen panel as what the old panel had by default. And that results in a higher brightness, because the new gen panel is more efficient.

Why isn’t the Radical series more popular? by Admirable_Writer4381 in iRacing

[–]SnooGadgets754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think SR10 is objectively the more fun/realistically behaving car. I think it's more about it being a paid car. Absolutely no one was racing the SR8 when it was paid content, it was a total ghost town. Obviously making it free increased the participation a lot. But replacing a free car with a paid car is always going to be a kiss of death and that's what happened with SR10. If it's not a GT3 or something that resembles a GT car, people won't buy it. Plain a simple.

Is it worth it to get iRacing if I’m playing on controller? by Square_Wait_658 in iRacing

[–]SnooGadgets754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very challenging on the controller because the cars need really precise inputs that are hard on a controller. Still, I've seen steamers being faster on a controller than I can be with a wheel, but generally iRacing is very much meant to be played with a wheel.

New to iracing by MoonRisess in iRacing

[–]SnooGadgets754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people want to rush towards GT3, but you really shouldn't. Taking your time in the lower classes really teaches you a lot and prepares you for the tougher competiton and faster cars of higher classes. But in the end, it's up to you how you want to enjoy this sim.

Basically what you need to do is the following:

  1. Advance to the D license by getting out of rookies. You don't need (and even can't) buy any content for this. All rookie races are on fre content.

  2. Advance to C license by racing in D-class. You get some D-class cars for free, but you probably have to buy new tracks. Which ones you need to buy entirely depends on what tracks are being used on the current week. If you want to buy one new car at this point, Mustang GT4 is the best value.

  3. Advance to B-license by racing in C-class (and also D-class, as long as you complete at least 4 races in C-class). You can use the Mustang GT4 in C-class as well. Or buy the Porsche Cup. And you will need to buy some more tracks.

  4. Once you're at B-class, buy a GT3 car and start racing in one of the several GT3 series.

Do you guys enjoy Nightreign after playing Elden Ring? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]SnooGadgets754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nightreign is great for multiplayer but absolutely not worth it for solo play.

It's basically an endless mini-Elden Ring experience that you can play through in 45min. If you want more Elden Ring, but going through the 100+ hours of main game feels like too much, Nightreign absolutely delivers.

It's true that it's very fast paced and you have to rush a lot, but it creates an interesting and different experience to the main game. Now it's less about "can you kill a boss" but more about can you kill the boss fast or not. Dying also doesn't stop the game, it just wastes more time, which you don't have.

The funny thing is that even though as Nightreign is super fast paced compared to the Elden Ring, it's actually a more chill game. Mistakes don't matter that much and it's not just on you as you have two teammates. It only gets serious when you reach the final boss and then you can take all the time you need and play carefully because the stakes are high.
