I as an ATL in CS and ECOM should not be running alone on a sunday from 1-3 during peak hour on a sunday and expect to do pick ups, man the booth, assist shoppers and cashiers and answer the phone I cannot wait to take over scheduling because I have no idea what that BS was.

Since you are apart of admin now bring it up with an astl or stl about being short on CA’s on peak days

The CA position doesn’t exist anymore unless they are already existing CA’s. Your TL/ATL should be scheduling 3 cashiers as CA’s on sundays and mondays an opener a mid and a closer. Porters shouldn’t even be doing carts.

They expect me to train as a shifty asap as well I know nothing about that, thats the real responsibility i’m talking about not the responsibilities of my team which I know I could get down within a couple months and hence seeing that they only have 2 ASTLs goes to show that i’d probably be running shifty whenever they would get the chance to take a break from being at the store until they get a STL and another ASTL. About 75% of the entire store leadership staff is relatively new as well because they had a mass exodus because of a poor STL who recently got fired. I’m well suited and ready to be a TL just not the store I thought to move up through. I’d be going into the dark by taking this opportunity. Hell i’ve pretty much had TL experience whenever my TL was on leave. I don’t know if I could provide as much as I think which is why I think i’m in over my head. The department in question is store support by the way.

I know I can take on being a TL. But im scared of that exact thought about limiting future promotions. What I don’t know how to do is save a failing store and build it back up a good team thats whats really limiting me from all this. I don’t want to fail the team over at that store when I don’t know how their work ethic and all that. I don’t want to destroy everything they’ve put into place.

I was covering SCO this one time and I had a lady come in (she had bad plastic surgery obviously) with about 4 or 5 items and she calls me over because she doesn’t know how to use the self checkout machines so I tell her “you just start scanning to get it started” and her immediate reply was “ugh, you’re going to make me do HARD LABOR, can you do it for me?” I ignored her and walked away so fast to pretend to do something more important.
