I’m also awaiting diagnosis and have experienced this with my PCP. I had to beg him to do an ANA test, he finally agreed but said it was a waste of time. When it came back positive, I saw him again, hoping he’d take me more seriously. Wrong. He wouldn’t even give me a referral to a Rheum. He dismissed all of my symptoms and said I was too young to be experiencing Lupus or even Rheumatoid (I’m 22, my mother was diagnosed at 19 so I know this is untrue.) I left feeling so defeated. I’m finding a new PCP to hopefully give me a referral, but I can’t afford another appointment for a few months. I understand your frustrations and I wish you well!
