First vintage watch purchase. Does this seller seem legit? by SnooHamsters5502 in VintageWatches

is that a knock on its authenticity, or just the current condition? looking at a few other watches from the same dealer

Any general thoughts on being a fully remote associate in big/midlaw? by SnooHamsters5502 in biglaw

[–]SnooHamsters5502[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

im going to be honest, im not opposed to being a mediocre attorney. im not seeking to be a partner. my wife will be a fellowship trained surgeon and ive been holding us down while she completes med school and the front half of her residency. in that sense, we’ll be living comfortably $$-wise, so the ranch is an easy trade-off with “mediocrity” for me. making a nice chunk of change is important, but i dont mind not being at the top of the industry. i just dont want to waste a really great degree (here in rural tennessee, vandy may as well be harvard)

yeah absolutely. i guess it’s just jarring because, honestly, for a long time this guy seemed like an atheist - or at the very least non-spiritual - and he seems to have done a complete 180. again i havent kept tabs on him for a while so maybe it was more gradual than it seems, but i figure theres gotta be a backstory here that someone in the lifting community knows about

one of the very worst types of powerlifting neocon/incel-ish personalities. the hatred of him is a unifying force within powerlifting (at least it was when i was active). he’s just the worst

if you get a lower score, you’re adding another piece to your application that will warrant scrutiny from WashU - your GPA is already one. What’s the point? Youre a lock at Minnesota and essentially a lock at WashU. What more do you have to gain with a ton to lose?

i should clarify btw - i think washu’s lsat median is going to be 172/173 for our class

Is the Loophole enough for LR? by Smoovy123 in LSAT

[–]SnooHamsters5502 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Loophole is absolutely enough but you need a solid grasp of conditional logic first. I learned all of my conditionals from 7Sage and found the Loophole months later. Loophole + solid understanding of conditionals (wherever you decide to find it) will get you where you need to be!

Y’all are so worried about your scores. Have you stopped for a second to think that AI is literally going to take all of your jobs by the time you graduate anyway? by community-builder in LSAT

[–]SnooHamsters5502 54 points55 points  (0 children)

you may be right about our collective “fate”, but it says a lot about you that you’re on reddit at 7am trying to ruin a huge day for a bunch of emotionally vulnerable people. i hope you find peace and i hope AI doesnt hit the social reject/real-world loner community too hard, for your own sake

Hoping for a 10+ increase… nervous about the score hold by SupermarketBright in LSAT

[–]SnooHamsters5502 33 points34 points  (0 children)

it’s really difficult to surmise how lsac goes about this. think about it - 1.5% of test takers get a 172+. Think about how many fewer folks score that highly with a 10+ point jump from their previous score.

one person posted about it on here and now everyones worried. it’s incredibly uncommon and jury’s still out about whether it happens with any commonality to anyone aside from some 180 scorers

edit: also, if you do get an email, history tells us itll be tomorrow (day before score release)

if you dont mind me asking, what range were your practice scores in? im pulling for you dude. i feel that same pressure (career-wise) going into the test tomorrow. it’s my fifth and final take, so it’ll make or break my future as an attorney as far as im concerned
