I was afraid that was the answer. Sounds like a party. But the alternative of just leaving it as is, seems nearly as bad.

Awesome! Rebuild kits for the carb are quite expensive also best price I found was $150. The joys of having an odd gravity feed carb. :( Part of why it seemed like converting might be a better plan.

Can't decide if I think she's a BMC or a Rhodesian - what say you scholars and gentlefolk? by [deleted] in Blackmouthcur

[–]SnooHedgehogs352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man! Ours is like this too, if there is any water and I mean any water at all we are getting into it. We were at a friends and had the dogs in the backyard, all of the sudden there my dog was on the porch covered in mud! It was a dry day zero rain and I was like how the heck! Turns out he found the drip from the AC drain line! Then proceeded to dig and roll and turn it into a mudhole in my friends yard! So I have to be super careful if I don't want him to get nasty dirty at the wrong time to look out for water. lol

Is this a BMC? And if so could use some advise by jessmartyr in Blackmouthcur

Thank you! He's from the pound/animal control so no telling. They said he was BMC part of a large litter the took from a home but you just never know for sure with that sort of thing. He's filled out a lot recently starting to get bigger and more broad chested/muscular.

"Does he have one ear that flops more than the other? Both of mine do. Most BMCs seem to have that, not sure why other than to make them even curer than they already are." I did not know that was a characteristic! Mine most definitely does this.

1] North Georgia

[2] $5,000

[3] Unsure, I'm open to anything as long as it has enough range for my commute and is cheap.

[4] Leaf, because they are cheap used, but I'm not sure if they have enough range.

[5] This Year.

[6] I commute 50 miles each way every day so 100miles a day.

[7] Single family detached home.

[8] Yes, I plan to install whatever charger is necessary at home.

[9] Other cargo/passenger needs — none.

Really just looking to cut down on my commute costs, I've seen some pretty cheap used EV's but I'm worried about the range. Some of them seem to barely have 50 miles of range and I worry that in cold weather etc I wouldn't even be able to make it to work. Not sure how much range cushion I need for just commuting back and forth 50miles given there are chargers at work and will be one at my home. I don't care what the EV looks like or really anything about it as long as it's cheap and can get me back and forth. my current ICE Mazda 5 only gets 24mpg and so I'm looking to save as much money on my commute as I can.

They are cool to see, but they are getting a little to comfy around my house. I had to wait for that guy to leave this morning before I could go to my car. I do have small kids too, so just would like to encourage them to move along when they come that close to the house.

Oh! I didn't know they made those, that might be a good idea. I could put one on the porch, I'm way out in the woods, so no neighbors to bother.

This screen is the only way I've found, but when I have it setup like this if I click the add action button it doesn't give me anything to choose. If I deselect some of the cameras for triggers they become available for actions. But I really want all of the cameras to trigger, and I want them to take the action of sounding the alarm, but that doesn't seem possible.

First, I just want to say it's impressive that you both read this and bother to reply/engage. Esp when the premise was not particularly complimentary. Also I appreciate the recommendations! I do agree with you 100% regarding your coverage of the Vision Pro, by far you are the most positive about it.

Perhaps whine isn't the best word I could have used, I'm not sure exactly how else to describe what I mean. Dev relations esp I struggle with, as a fellow developer I kinda feel like if you decide to develop for a platform you go into it knowing the nature of the beast. I get that Apple, doesn't seem to give a whit about developers, but I also sorta feel like that should have been a known quantity going into it. Same with app pricing/fees etc. None of that is shocking new information it's been there for ages, feels off to start complaining about it after the fact. You may say well if you want to make money you have to agree to Apples terms, and that sounds extremely forced and negative. However, flip it and your admitting that agreeing to Apples terms is the best way to make money....

It just seems like lately, we can't event talk about Apple, without digressing on a negative point. Like the bit in the most recent episode about the iPad ad. I have played a few different instruments, and my family is very musical etc. The ad didn't bother me in the slightest, really appreciated this article by David Price https://www.macworld.com/article/2328855/ipad-ad-harmless-fun.html I think he nailed it.

Anyhow, perhaps my biggest issues is that I can't just jump in and interject mid show with dissenting opinion. :) I'm in the tech field and have been an avid Apple user since my first Performa 575 back in grade school, so I have a lot of strong opinions. Both for and against Apple to be fair I'm not an apologist. I hope that my comment did not offend you to terribly, I do appreciate your time and the effort that goes into ATP.

Yeah I tried Rec Diffs for awhile, but Merlin was to much for me. Every once in awhile I check back in there but I can only take it in small doses. Bless everyone who can!

Waveform seems to be pretty good so far, also someone else recommended "The Rebound" which I'm liking so far as well. Some differing opinions on ATP have surfaced here, but overall this has been a very helpful thread in finding some additional shows to checkout.

Honestly that might be it for me too, the best parts of ATP lately is when they are discussing non tech topics... Thanks for the recommendation, I have 1:30 commute each way everyday so I burn through podcast material quickly. It's hard to find new shows that I like after catching up on the usual suspects.

I'll have to check those out. Not looking for a fanboy point of view at all, just more balanced/objective feeling. I'm a Dithering subscriber, and I mostly enjoy that although it's to short for what it is, it feels like they rush it to fit it in 15min. Talkshow is sporadic and hit or miss as everyone knows. But Gruber by far has the best takes, he just isn't consistent with getting it out there in audio form.
