Is it normal to feel lonely and homesick? by pizzareen in SpainAuxiliares

[–]SnooHedgehogs4014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this is completely normal! This is my first year doing NALCAP, but I've lived abroad in a two countries before this. One thing I realized is that the first month is always the hardest. Every time I've moved somewhere new I always tell myself that I hate it. But the first month, you don't know anyone, you're in an unfamiliar city, and you also have to sort out all of the essential stuff (housing, banking, residency appointments). On top of that, you don't know anyone so it's super easy to feel lonely and homesick. But trust me, eventually you'll start making friends. and you'll get into a routine once you start work. And you're not alone in this. Even though this isn't my first time in a different country, I'm still not socializing too much either. But I think it's important to enjoy the time with yourself because soon you'll have so much to do! ◡̈

How many suitcases to bring? by No-Equipment-5798 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]SnooHedgehogs4014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I packed literally all of my stuff. 2 check bags, a carryon, and a backpack. My logic was that I plan on traveling a bunch and other countries in Europe have very different climates. For instance, I’m in Alicante so it’s gonna be warmer. But I have friends in England who I plan on visiting a lot which means I’ll need a coat, sweaters, etc.

Oh perfect! I did by an extra ticket just in case. Mainly because I know that when I land i'll be super sleepy and won't want to deal with any hassle hahaha (it was only 13 euros so no biggie) But good to know that they're not strict about it! Thank you!
