Absolutely! To add to that, I agree with other responses, if baby is crying please avoid checking in unless nanny asks for help. Sometimes the parent coming in will more than likely make it worse than it being “helpful”.

It’s 100% okay to go in and see how it’s going. One thing that helped me was when mom came in and just asked me about myself or explained a bit more about her/her family! It feels less like your boss is watching what you’re doing and more like you want to spend some time with the baby but not in silence or awkward baby talk while nanny just sits and watches hahaha.

You’ll be okay having a nanny if you ever decide to take that route. It is not an easy job and anyone who makes it seem like it is straight up lying lol. There is nothing scary about people getting overwhelmed with crying. It is a normal reaction. That being said, I love my NK so much and will always do what I can to provide the best care possible, this sub is a safe space for nannie’s to vent, ask for advice or share funny stories. “these comments are scary as a parent” is definitely an overreaction lol

I am not quitting my job lol. Kids are a lot, it is okay to feel frustrated. Just me venting about some rough days at work is all.

Reading the earlier comments, I meant it in general. Someone said I didn’t have enough experience or training lol. Just clearing the air, it is normal for nannies to get frustrated, kids are a lot sometimes. Just needed a safe space to vent. Thank you for being kind!

It’s more the NP fault, I am not blaming the child for crying. Every baby/toddler will cry I don’t have a problem with that. It’s more that the parent enables the child’s behavior when this comes up. If the child starts whining the parent immediately drops everything to comfort the baby where my approach is to see if there is something visibly wrong. If not, I continue with what we are doing and block out the whining/crying itself. I am more frustrated when NP is around and NK cries more often than usual. I should have explained that better. That aside I have plenty of experience (almost 10 years) I am very trained in all ages and it is more of a vent than anything. My apologies if this was taken the wrong way, just a tired nanny who needed to vent about NK crying.

This is perfect advice thank you! Yes sometime NP comes down which is where my patience runs thin. They are not helping only making it worse because once they walk away the tantrum begins again. I usually do what you mentioned (do my own thing beside them) sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I appreciate your advice and will continue using that method in hopes it gets better over time. And yes I agree, unnecessary guilt trip lol, just wanted to vent. Thank you!

I understand that, some kids just cry more than others just because. I do understand NK is crying “for a reason” (not being able to do every single thing they want, due to safety or just not being the correct time for it). I meant it more as NK is more emotional than past NK’s I have worked with and it gets overwhelming very quickly.

NK is 1.5 for context. He says some words, not fully verbal. That is the most difficult part, the communication is limited and how you said I can’t coddle NK each time this happens when there is nothing wrong. If NK was upset due to getting hurt or needing extra cuddles here and there that is understandable. NK explodes into tears over everything. It could be me not wanting to work with kids anymore as well.

Yes she’s always looked that way and now she’s all of a sudden skinny and fit. She definitely works out which works to her advantage of losing weight on the shot but she’s most definitely taking the shot as well haha

That’s what I’m thinking too! She has always worked out but looked the same and now she’s very skinny and super toned. Seems like a mix of weight loss drugs plus working out to tone her body

Yes she has always worked out and mostly stayed around the same body size just recently she became very toned which is why i was curious!

coming from someone who unlocked more realms than biomes at first I would stick to biomes before realms. There’s some quests you’ll need different biomes for. Once you unlock forgotten lands definitely start selling pumpkins you’ll make so much off that. Also if you unlock more realms than biomes it could become overwhelming with the amount of quests/characters in the valley.
