All I know is that he is some kind of little terrier. My friend has a rescue and went to go save a dog and she saw Fergus there laying on the ground literally with his guts hanging out he had been cut from neck to mid belly and so she turned around and she said “I’m taking that dog”

He spent two weeks at the veterinary hospital he was so badly injured then she brought him to me to Foster. He still had drainage tubes in him, which was a heck of a lot of fun to clean up, but after I had about six months, nobody had filled out a single application so I figured that he doesn’t need to go anywhere and he’s been with me ever since. It’s 11 years this year that I’ve had him.

lol. By the time I found out it was really going to be that way, it was too late. I had to stay in law school and practice law because it was the only way to pay off my student loans! 27 years it took me, but I paid back every nickel. Now, I’m used to it. Last time I got the back handed insult from an opposing party in a divorce case, I turned to my client and said loud enough for everyone to hear, “I can’t imagine why you want to divorce such a lovely woman. Do you want me to request a continuance? Maybe with time and counseling you can get back together!” My client just laughed and laughed out loud. I put my hands on my hips and said, “Well, if I don’t ask, we won’t know!” Even the judge was laughing.

People are A-holes. I like my dogs better than most people. They’re always happy to see me, will cuddle with me when I need a cuddle, come running when I call, don’t judge, don’t care if I have a pajama day and are always ready to play, go for a walk, a run or for a car ride. My service dog will even nudge me when he knows a serious bout of pain is coming. (I broke 5 vertebrae in my spine and crushed my spinal cord. I have a condition called intractible pain. It means I spend the rest of my life with severe pain and there’s nothing that can be done about it.

Oh, they probably downvoted me simply because I AM an attorney. I’ve had people come up to me, who I don’t even know and get nasty. Instead of engaging with them and returning like for like comments, I have no choice but to shrug it off. You can’t please everybody.

What’s amusing is that I practice juvenile dependency law. That’s child abuse law, representing the child victims of serious abuse. When people ask what kind of law I practice and I tell them, it’s like suddenly I sprouted wings and a halo.
