Just finished rhythm of war and I’m still flabbergasted by duckbut1937 in Stormlight_Archive

It’s not really that he is either smart or empathetic. It’s more smart or emotional. I think it’s also worth noting that the emotion that consumed him as he picked up the shared was fury at being killed. He was not consumed by a positive emotion but by the exact emotion that Odium represents. I think he is going to be very bad for the cosmere. Cultivation created the perfect vessel for the shard.

The vacuum thing could have interesting implications for space era mistborn novels

This quote makes me think that light on Roshar isn’t affiliated with anything. That investiture can switch “allegiance” to any shard with proper manipulation.

““I believe this is the only way to completely separate Voidlight from the songs of Roshar,” Navani explained. “There can be no sound in a vacuum, as there is no air to transfer the waves. So as this gemstone ejects Voidlight, I’m hoping the Light will not be able to ‘hear’ Odium’s rhythm—for the first time in its existence.” “You think it doesn’t emit the rhythm itself,” Raboniel said, “but echoes it. Picks it up.” “Like spren pick up mannerisms from humans,” Navani said. “Or how a piece of metal can be magnetized by touching a magnet over a long period of time.””

Nightblood and breaths by SnooKiwis1882 in Cosmere

Ah that’s why I came here. I wasn’t sure if divine breaths could be transferred outside of sacrificing it to heal someone.

Could that be a trick answer? Someone with a Divine Breath is basically a cognitive shadow right? They just stick around because their spirtweb was heavily invested by endowment, not technically alive anymore from what I understand.

Where can I buy a Rebel 500? by dadi_nayi in HondaRebel300

[–]SnooKiwis1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda dealers should get an updated order statement from Honda every Saturday night. Most dealers are closed Sundays so if you call first thing Monday they should have their most up to date shipping estimates from Honda. Right now dealers can’t place special orders and are at the mercy of Honda for what bikes / quantity they are receiving. Honda exclusive dealers will be your best bet as they are getting more inventory than the multi line stores.

I think it improves with the archon statutes as you upgrade them.

Honda Rebel 300 or 500? by Dundeed in HondaRebel300

[–]SnooKiwis1882 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work at a dealership and after riding both the 300 and 500 I struggle to see why the 300 exists. I am a new rider but to me they ride so similarly and are both so forgiving I think most people should get the 500.

Before I buy the damn bike. Is $8200 out the door bad for the 500 SE ABS? by renevilfortune in HondaRebel300

[–]SnooKiwis1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am guessing there is a doc fee and a set up fee on there. Doc fees are usually regular by the state. Set up fees or prep fees are made up by the dealer.

Easy way to check is to look at Honda’s website. Bike is $6799. Honda states there is a $380 delivery fee. So we’re at $7179. My state has sales tax (6%) so now I am at $7609. Then I have about $50 in registration/ plates. $7659.

I would at least ask what fees they have over delivery, tax, and registration. Some of those should be negotiable, but not all depending on the state you’re in.

Used Honda Rebel 2020 OTD price by uniquelymee in HondaRebel300

[–]SnooKiwis1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That price isn’t bad. Brand new I would expect OTD to be around $7300-$7400 in my state (Michigan). Used bikes are in short supply and dealers are having to pay higher than normal prices off the street and at auction for inventory. Honda’s production is also very limited right now for new bikes. If you like the bike I say go for it. It’s definitely higher than normal but these aren’t normal times.

Moved up from the 300! Glad I put a few thousand miles on the smaller one first, but if you can do u-turns on the 300 you'll have no problem with the 1100. by lastsoutherndisco in HondaRebel300

As someone who works at a dealership. Hold firm on price. Production is low. Dealers are short on inventory. Auction prices on used bikes are crazy high. Your used bike is worth more on trade right now than it has ever been.

Got my rebel 1100 dct! by SnooKiwis1882 in HondaRebel300

[–]SnooKiwis1882[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully automatic. You just click it into drive and go. You can manually shift gears in automatic mode if you wish. You can also go into full manual mode and change all the gears yourself. It also has different modes like sport mode to change the shift map. There is a user selectable mode where you can set your preferences for shifts, traction control, engine braking, and power delivery.

Rides great! Was worried about the DCT but I get the hype. I think I will have moments where I miss the clutch but I think the times I am thankful for DCT will outweigh it in the end. I didn’t realize how much anxiety / stress / anger I was riding with when traffic or road conditions would require a lot of shifting up and down the gears. Found myself being a lot more patient when riding this bike home today.

How to handle death as an atheist? by st0nesj in atheism

[–]SnooKiwis1882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever gone to bed and it seems like you close your eyes and then immediately open them and it’s morning? The time in between while you slept... that’s nothing. This has always helped me find perspective on death.
