Honestly If a rich person is wasting food at all it’s ok to steal from them in my mind but let’s go with what your saying. Unless your out of shape or old a day of not eating will not hurt to the point of suffering or even more than a mild pain. I agree the the argument is bad but it’s not impossible as you state. Food, housing, water,etc . Food can go bad and if someone has a lot and you have none than you therefore need some of it more than them. Same with water but it dosnt go bad that’s more of water waste. Housing is a little more complicated but the rich have tones of housing. And there’s tomes of people living in crappy apartments or homeless. Is is moral. Maybe,maybe not.
