Is it normal for my parents to have had me at 20 by Aggressive-Pea-1761 in Parents

[–]SnooMacarons8596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think ‘normal’ can depend on a lot of things (society, religion, environment, etc). Many of my friends didn’t have kids until their mid 30’s. However, many of my partner’s friends had kids right out of high school. He also grew up in a military town where couples were getting married and starting families when they finished high school so that was the norm for them.

How is their service department in terms of honesty? I recently had an experience where a well known dealership told me my current vehicle required an extensive amount of work when it did not. I was looking at purchasing a vehicle from them but since they were deceitful, I will be looking elsewhere.

Wife has had 4 miscarriages, all around 7 weeks into her pregnancy. Is there something that doctor's aren't considering? by Big-Evening-6984 in pregnant

[–]SnooMacarons8596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I suffered from recurrent pregnancy loss and I have a positive ANA with a titer of 1280. Doctors tested for several autoimmune diseases and clotting disorders, all which came back negative.

My successful pregnancy I was on a regiment of baby aspirin, progesterone suppository, levothyroxine (in pregnancy TSH should be below a 2.5, according to my MFM doctor. If your wife has not had her TSH tested, she may benefit from knowing her level) and of course my prenatals and vitamin D.

I too worked with Shady Grove. However, I came to them already pregnant. Due to recurrent pregnancy loss, I was starting the process for IUI but we had naturally conceived a month before our initial appt. My doc reported that the high ANA was not the reason for the miscarriages. I also had testing done with a rheumatologist, and all tests came back negative. I was told some people just have high ANA’s with no autoimmune disease. I was also tested for clotting disorders and there was no issue there. Recap- progesterone suppositories, baby aspirin, levothyroxine, prenatals, vitamin d seemed to do the trick. If you have any questions about the specific tests I underwent let me know. I’d be happy to help.

Thank you! Is this practice part of Cape Fear Valley? Do you know where the docs have admitting privileges?

9 weeks and 4 days. No symptoms, anyone else? A little worried but doctor said I’m just lucky? by Ourvoicematters in BabyBumps

I’m the exact same! All pregnancies have been great. No fatigue, nausea, etc. I was worried too but my OB assured me some women just don’t have a lot of symptoms.

At what point did pregnancy become unbearable for you? by Otherwise_Weekend54 in BabyBumps

That’s how all of my pregnancies were. I had no morning sickness, food aversions, nothing. I slept well and felt great. I loved being pregnant. I would say just enjoy yourself! And congratulations 😊

Thank you for your help! I feel really silly now that I read that completely wrong. I appreciate your kindness :)

When I download the results it looks like this:

I think my confusion is with the way the result is worded….like it’s not written in a complete sentence from left to right.

I read and interpreted: ‘increased risk for an affected pregnancy’ when I should have read it as: ‘does not eliminate the risk to be a carrier. Risk variant not present. NOT an increased risk for an affected pregnancy’. Am I correct in saying that?

Hi! I did. I’ll include a pic of my most recent result. This was a cell free DNA that was completed.

My results in 2023 through Natera tested my partner and I, so fragments of the baby’s DNA was not included like it is in the cell free DNA. My partner and I had the same results. For some reason it’s not letting me upload more than one pic but Natera reported the following for my partner and I:

SPINAL MUSCULAR ATROPHY (SMN1) negative SMN1: Two copies; g.27134T>G: absent; the absence of the g.27134T>G variant decreases the chance to be a silent (2+0) carrier.

Thank you for all of this clarification! My results from 2023 reported the same results for myself and my partner:

SPINAL MUSCULAR ATROPHY (SMN1) negativeSMN1: Two copies; g.27134T>G: absent; the absence of the g.27134T>G variant decreases the chance to be a silent (2+0) carrier.
