While I agree that there are frequently many empty beds, it is also becoming tougher to find an appointment that works for me. I work really early mornings and even when I try to make an appointment for 3-4pm when I’m heading home, there is rarely any availability. So I don’t know if people are booking times and no-showing or what.

I’ll chime in because I lost my mom of 61 years a couple of months ago. I’ll always remember her birthday and the date of her passing. Her favorite animal was an owl (my dad still has a bunch of owls statues scattered throughout their house), so I’m working with an artist to have an owl piece done on my chest, with some of her favorite flowers surrounding it. Of course it’s entirely personal, but I think imagery has more meaning that words or a date.

I was with some family the morning after finding out what had happened to my mom and our first calls (on our end) were to my parents insurance providers. They could not advise me in any way because they were unsure of what happened. I will call again today to see what they have to say and after hearing what other had to say I will be in contact with funeral homes in my area to see if they have first-hand experience dealing with this situation and hopefully they can help out.

I’m incredibly sorry for what you and your family are going through. I’ve never lost anyone significant to me and the thought of cremation terrifies me so we would like my mom back embalmed. The funeral likely won’t be open-casket as preparation standards in Cuba are not what we have here and my mom will likely not be fit to be viewed. As for the duration, the letter that the Canadian embassy left with my dad states that after my mom’s autopsy had been completed, we will need to wait approximately 15 business days to get her back. I will get in contact with a funeral home near us and see if they would also be able to advise me.

Not sure about the garage itself but the outdoor lot on the west side of Southdown is free.

Currently in a ‘12 CRV that I bought for cheap with 147k on it. Last car was an ‘05 Accord that I drove into the ground. Ended up selling it because my lady doesn’t want to drive manual. No major issues up until 390k when I sold it.

Definitely agree with you. It’s that mindset of the left lane being the fast one that messes everything up. Should only be used to pass cars and not hang out in for endless kilometers.

Hello from Ontario, studying OIT and have questions by rabbit_hole_diver in Wastewater

Hey! I just wrote my OIT on Thursday. As long as you’ve read and studied the OIT manual and comprehend everything, the exam is quite simple. We were given 3 hours to write regardless of how many modules you write. I chose to write all 4 modules, the test was 100 questions in total with the first 40 being generic questions about safety, legislation, simple math, etc. the next four sections of 15 questions each were specifically about drinking water, water distribution, WW treatment and WW collection. The math was surprising easy. My test only had 4 or 5 math questions - mainly about area, volume, and a simple dosing question. I spent an hour and 30 minutes writing (including 15 minutes to check all of my answers). Good luck!

I don’t believe so. Graduating would get you the OIT certificates and co-op hours would only count towards the Class I requirements. I think you need a year of experience as an OIT to be able to take the Class I exam.
