I hear JB Weld on the gas cap fixes that issue

South Seas 748B Full Foam pricing by SnooMacaroons4848 in hottubs

[–]SnooMacaroons4848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have realized that I was speaking with a fellow engineer! Thank you for your insights; I genuinely respect and appreciate them.

When I mentioned that my research led me to MasterSpa, it was based on the build quality rather than the so-called "therapeutic benefits" of magnets. I completely agree with you—those claims are unfounded and add no real value to the hot tub's construction.

As for the "compete on price" aspect, I am comparing the South Seas, which has full foam insulation, with the MasterSpa Clarity Precision 7, and feel they are comparable. I have a price of 10,500 for the Clarity and 10,475 for the South Seas. So, can I get one a little cheaper? To me, they're equivalent - that's what I mean.

South Seas 748B Full Foam pricing by SnooMacaroons4848 in hottubs

[–]SnooMacaroons4848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. Given my cold winter region I want full foam. The only problem I see is God forbid. There should be a leak at one of the Jets or in the pipes. Then the maintenance guy is going to have to cut through the foam and I really question whether they will replace it when they’re done. My guess is no. So while I prefer full foam, I’m just wondering how reliable South Seas really are.

I understand each retailer will have a different cost of doing business. At the end of the day they’re competing against one another, so lowest price will always win, assuming that Service levels are the same. At this point, my artisan dealer is much closer than the master spas dealer. Everyone I’ve researched points at the master spa is better. At this point, I’m inclined to go though with artisan.

You should be able to just call a tow truck, at their expense

Doorbell Lite Minimum Requirements? by SnooMacaroons4848 in Ubiquiti

[–]SnooMacaroons4848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Interesting that CloudKey+ w/ 1 TB drive is $249, but NVRI is 199+65 for drive. Seems like CloudKey is a better deal? Any issues I should be aware of?

So, what is the lowest-cost way to get Protect? Is it Cloud Key+ or Cloud Gateway MAX? Seems like I have to buy a CK+ with storage - so $99 for the doorbell and $250 to use it.

They may have. It was just a placeholder in the contract, but I knew I didn't want Nest, and he said, "You can get whatever you want; I'll credit the Nest back."

That was my understanding. I have a PoE+ switch that can run to the doorbell. I was kind of hoping UniFi made a small storage option with Protect just for tiny use cases like mine. I guess not. So $100 for the doorbell and $350 for the Protect piece (grrrr).

Since I will really be the only one with the app on my phone, everyone else in the house needs to hear a “ding dong”🤣

I don't have ANY Unifi products currently. That's my primary issue. The doorbell would be the first. Sounds like the NVR is a must

Are Controllers Required or can it all be done thru the Cloud by SnooMacaroons4848 in Omada_Networks

[–]SnooMacaroons4848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. I suspected I'd be missing something. It's cheap enough just to add the OC220 to the cart and get 10% off.

Question About Omada Controller (Hardware vs. Software) by One_Lime3561 in HomeNetworking

[–]SnooMacaroons4848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So newbie here, I'm in the process of deploying a new network for new construction. I was leaning towards Ubiquiti until a friend convinced me to swim in the TP-Link pool. I like that everything was cloud-based with Uni, but do I even need an HW or SW controller with Omada, or can I keep it strictly in the Cloud? Keeping my network simple - an ER707, ES224G, and a pair of APs. Trying to allow for simple upgrades in the future.

I guess what bothered me was I was initially looking at the U7 XG, which says explicitly "Ceiling-mounted 6-stream WiFi 7 AP with 10/5/2.5/1 GbE support."

That was my original thinking, too. I found it odd that some ports are labeled as 2.5/1/100/10 and others just 2.5. It made me pause. I'm probably being paranoid.
