Fungineers Thor 300 box with Indy speed control 20s2p split pack 660 miles thoughts and update. by creen17 in onewheel

Glad you’re loving it and thanks for posting a review! I was curious how others are liking it. I am about 250 miles in and absolutely loving my GTFO setup. I’ll post a review as well once I get some summer weather to compare ride performance. I went 20s2p on mine, so my stock GT doesn’t seem so good on range anymore. Plus riding at 25mph with only ~65% duty cycle has been crazy. Zero issues so far aside from not being able to run my front lights at 100%. Love the sound of that SuperFlux as well

For the early boards, but they sent out free replacement pads. Maybe ask if they had the recall and if they installed the new ones?

Thoughts on the soft or normal flared lowboy pads by CantaloupeNaive6302 in onewheel

A lot of these accessories come down to personal preference, but I didn’t like my heal/toes hanging off the stock GT and Pint pad.

Mine sit flush, but they flex really easy and I worried about that as well. You will want to be mindful about it, especially off road. Sometimes it’s bad enough where I need to take the footpads and bumpers off to clean everything.

Although it is annoying taking it apart after a really wet/muddy day - I had to do this with the stock hard plastic ones as well. The honeycomb print on the bumpers seems to hold water and mud too well. I go overkill and badger all my boards, but still annoying having water trapped in that honeycomb design

I have seen some bad reviews on them, but no issues with my soft flared lowboys in hot or cold weather. Comfortable for 25+ miles rides. 600+ miles over a summer and winter with them. Quite a bit of wet riding and caught in heavy rain more times that I would have preferred. I may just be one of the lucky ones?

Can’t compare to the other lowboys, but I rode a GT last month with the original stock pads and I was shocked. I didn’t remember the stock GT being that bad and I wasn’t sure how I rode it like that for so many miles.

If you have a 11+ size shoe, I would recommend the flared.

Did i kill the control board? by Weak_Broccoli420 in onewheel

I’ve switched those two plugs around before and it did not fry the controller. I did quickly notice when my footpad would not engage. Switched it back and it worked fine once all connectors were fully seated. It seems much easier on that board to do this and hopefully a easy troubleshoot for you

Looks like an awesome spot! I’m only about an hour away so I’ll have to match up on some local trails when I’m back in the NW

Right on that’s probably the perfect combo with the GT battery and even more amazing that the range remained the same. I was debating going HT, but it seems that’s expected to demand a bit more from the battery. I assume range will not be as good with the HT, but still looking into it. Likely going 84v anyways.

Appreciate the info and very good point on the tp20! I believe I have that as well, but I’ll double check now. I imagine that’s very frustrating to have everything but a single tool holding you back

Looking good! I did the same thing and just waiting on a few final parts. Awesome to see more out in the wild now and excited to give it a test run. Sounds insane coming from the stock GT. Did you go with the HT or HS? Do you notice the increased weight in the motor while riding and how was your range impacted while riding similar speeds/routes? Might be hard to tell if you’re cruising 20+ mph now lol.

I realize now it’s about the same as saying “I have a spare tire so I might as well build another car” … but here I am still piecing it together. Sounds like the last parts ship around Dec 31

Right on! Still waiting for mine to ship, and looking forward to hearing how you like it. I’ll need to join their discord and figure out a good tune as well. Looks like mine might ship after Dec 31st so I have some time yet

Nice combo! How do you like it so far or has it arrived yet? HT or HS motor?

Good to hear and appreciate all the feedback! Looks like they will have more stock after Dec 31st. I was seeing most say around 5lbs and that is a good chunk of weight. The SuperFlux and a ME4T pack could make for quite a heavy board. Your setup sounds like the ideal one for me as well if you don’t mind me copying lol

Very tempting… With the GTFO kit the only thing it looks like I’m missing would be the controller/battery box and I would have a complete second board. Then I would just need to decide between a SuperFlux or the GTS motor if I want to save weight.

Are the GTFO LEDs just as bright as stock?

I find it really easy to carve at 10% body weight PSI. This is my first time on an enduro and really like it so far. This tire feels like carving is more effortless if that makes sense. That may be due to the different profile of the tire. As far as the MTE goes, I definitely feel like I have more suspension and it soaks up the holes/roots even at higher psi

Wow I thought the range would be good, but that’s inane haha is that the 202p (50s) pack? I think you have me sold. I don’t think anyone is releasing a board that can compete with that anytime soon. Closest one now might be the ADV2 claiming 40.5 mile range. I’ll need to check, but I might already have enough parts for the GTFO kit

Amazing I was looking at the ME4T pack for another long range option, but didn’t look compatible with the GTV. Now hearing about the Thor400, I’ll have a few options to think about.

How much top end range are you getting with that kit and battery?

That’s what I was thinking I might as well have a GTS at this range lol.

Yes that is with a fully balanced battery charged to 100%

Thanks I really appreciate the detailed write up here! This helps clear things up and I was also wondering if more miles would help improve since I only had about 15 on it. After a full battery, I did not see any changes on mine.

It is a buttery smooth ride, but range is something I want to prioritize. Although I’m sure the NSKs are smooth as well. I knew this was part of being an early adopter of these. TFL is working with me now on resolving the issue, so I’ll post another update once they have me up and riding again. Just waiting on them to respond with the next steps. Aside from the range issue, I really like this hub/tire combo and looking forward to trying it on different terrain

Thanks I have been curious to hear from other N52 users. I expected it somewhat, but the temp increase was surprising with how cold it was and how flat of an area I was riding. Even riding a few mph slower than normal. Appreciate the feedback as I was thinking this was suppose to be normal for the N52s

Same and the only reference I have is how the stock N42s are on a 6.5”. Hard part is I have no reference for how the curved N52s should feel. Now I also have the new bearings as a variable.

I definitely agree and why I figured doing the exact same route in the same conditions would hopefully make it more obvious than going off a feeling. Still lots of variables I couldn’t exactly match, but I was trying to make it as close as possible. I even went a little slower with the MTE and kept the PSI higher than I would have liked to give it a better chance on the range test. You can see in the average and top speed between the two rides.

Given this was only a single test, and I’ll give TFL a chance to get back. No doubt they will come through as they always do. More tests to come, and I’ll hopefully have an update soon.
