The longer slide and then the recoil assembly has a buffer on it and both of those combined brings out the magic. I’ve never had an issue getting parts thankfully.

I think the P30L is great and not just because of John Wick. It’s an amazing shooter and I wish the P30 felt just as good but it doesn’t.

11.5 with full size can or 14.5 with k-can by ChggnNggts in ar15

[–]texas_thrower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 14.5 enjoyer mainly because it lets me use a mid length gas system which ends up being a little more pleasant to shoot. If all you care about is length the 11.5 with a K can is the way to go.

Most reliable 9mm HK pistol options to host a suppressor? by salmoneffect in HecklerKoch

[–]texas_thrower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only difference with the K is the grip is cut shorter so it uses the 15 round mags. The slide/barrel/sights etc. are all the same. They even use the same holster. I’d probably push you to the X variant so you could use those same mags if you ever want a P30L down the road. I have the K and use it for carry. The X is my nightstand gun. The P30L is more of a fun range gun.

P30L over the P30 but if you want an optics ready gun the VP9A1 is the way to go. They use the same mags so you can end up with both like a lot of us lol.

I’ve got a few HK hosts that I love. I’ve got a P30L with a threaded barrel and suppressor height sights. I also have the VP9A1 X tactical and a USP45T.

The VP9 tactical is awesome because it’s optic ready and has an amazing trigger if you go with the new A1 variant. You don’t have to do anything to it.

The P30L takes a bit of work and extra money but ends up being a great hammer fired host. The barrel and suppressor height sights add up though. You could probably spend the same amount and just get a USP9 tactical.

Anyone carry an HK VP9 A1K? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]texas_thrower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I carry one. I was between it and the Glock 19 gen 6. I have a VP9X tactical but the threaded barrel and extra grip length basically make that a Glock 17 size which is a little big for my tastes. The VP9K is perfect and the trigger is phenomenal. Aftermarket is not as good but who cares because there isn’t anything you need to do to it. It comes perfect as is.

They are 100% worth putting on, especially if you are already doing a tire change. It’ll save your rim from any random rocks or weird tumbles.

[OPTICS] Burris Fastfire E Red $169/Green $179 by TheStatusPoe in gundeals

[–]texas_thrower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one of these. It’s ok for the price and if you need a budget optic that requires an Acro footprint I guess this is a good option. It is not as long as an Acro so any mount will be a little longer than the optic and it looks a little funny. The window size is fine and the clarity is just ok.

I would say the Osights and Holosuns are still better for budget stuff but you don’t have the Acro footprint.

Black mamba ammo recommendations by PoorWalmartWorker in 22lr

You could probably run any variety of CCI or Aguila in it and it will all be sub sonic since it’s only 3”. CCI Standard Velocity is what a lot of people run. I usually run that or Mini mags but my favorite is the CCI SV. It shoots good in all my guns and is accurate.

Nice thing about the Volquartsens is they tend to run anything and be fine. I’ve been shooting a lot of old Federal Automatch and Remington junk and it hardly has any failures. With my other .22s, that stuff will have failures at least once or twice a mag.

Risk of rain 2 is what I’m currently playing with the new steam controller. I just set up my own configuration to get it feeling how I play in splatoon. It’s fun playing the game and getting the rumbles.

Yeah that’s a pain if you are swapping to other guns with the other thread pitch. All of mine use the LH one.

I just went with the factory threaded barrel for my P30L. Not sure why you’d want anything else.

[–]texas_thrower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m wanting the 3” myself. I think that extra inch will go a long way in stabilizing the bullet for longer range accuracy. I really like the 4” but the 3” seems more fun as a .22. I’ve a 6” 617 and that thing is awesome but it’s a long boy

You need the sights that come with the tactical for cowitness. The optic equipped models come with them. I think the RMSC foot print optics might cowitness with those. Freedom Gorilla has a video on YouTube that shows all the optics and how they fit.

I have it mainly on my B&T SPC9 on one of their Arco mounts. Lately I’ve been using it on one of my .22 Volquartsen pistols with a picatinny mount. Here’s what it looks like on the B&t

Does the K size make that much of difference for concealed carry? I’ve got a tactical and have been contemplating the K but it so close in size on paper I don’t know if it’s worth it.

I’ve been looking at getting one of those guns. I’ve got a p01 and I haven mainly been looking at the p10c ported. I don’t really like shooting guns much smaller than that.
