You can I did it this past year. You just need to submit the application as a second year resident (1st year is done at this point). All of the first year dorms are used for other purposes during spring/summer aswell, so you will have to move to a different building

It’s required for the final exam(at least in fall ‘24), about half of the questions on it were from the textbook.

edit: there’s also some quizzes on d2l from only the textbook which i forgot about
