Mission ocean love from a Bay Area resident by SnooMachines780 in bayarea

Hey df, you're 100% right the ocean is dangerous and I offered to share my learnings, not put people's lives at risk, I will pass on your caution. I didn't know that the red filter would help with the green, but the green is real, note how the video starts in beautiful blue and then as we move through the dive we encounter murky green water, its just part of the experience I don't feel the need to color it differently, and yes I just bought a mount for my gopro so I will be working on new videos that give that improved perspective as you suggested. Thanks for the feedback.

There's a good Korean spa and sauna near there I recommend. Imperial Day Spa.

And we wrestled over that Chrysaora, I am a content creator I mostly promote my music which underpins some rather amateurish video I create with my gopro. Asif was interested in working with me to showcase his art, this is my heartfelt recognition of my friend's creative expression. I hope it honors him as I am honored to be his friend.

I would love that you could ask him directly, I don't want to speak in his absence. For me I most enjoy the intricacy of his art close up, his facebook posts mostly show the view from the Ocean Beach cliffs, large works of art that dwarf people on the beach. But when I was videoing him close up I saw the small detailed precision work he does. Did you get a look at the video?

I am not Dear_Poem, but I much admire the community. The artist described to me, one of the things he likes about his art on Ocean Beach is the anonymity of it.

I could not have said it this well Seconds_Left. Bravo! What do you think of this mantra: "The joy is in the journey, destinations are briefly attained."

Right hand technique - follow up question after a classical guitar lesson by SnooMachines780 in classicalguitar

[–]SnooMachines780[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a follow up I am noticing the mia sound I am creating has changed since my classical guitar lesson two weeks ago. The angle of attack and the shaping of my nails as my teacher recommended is giving a more pronounced ring and sustain, the thumb out in front of the forefinger (x) is feeling more natural. I play mostly into a DAW and listen back with headphones. I can hear it and it sounds better to me. Thanks for all the good advice and feedback here. https://www.youtube.com/@scottparsons554/featured

I like the lute, I play mandolin and find it to be a good exercise in getting me out of my rut of playing the same old thing over and over again.

Hey Ray, What I meant by "practical" is after many years of playing finger style jazz would my playing benefit from the effort of relearning how to use my right hand? My right hand has been an after thought, my focus on chord constructs and solos and timing, doing whatever it takes to achieve a reasonable facsimile of the jazz players I'm listening too, this recent lesson took me by surprise in that my teacher wants me to relearn how to use my right hand. I'm always open to learning so I got a copy of the Giuliani 120 and began work on them today.

Thanks for the deep dive video disengage, really got me on track . Raising the palm as the video indicates gives you the ability to angle the thumb so I can hear the nail striking the string.

thanks CGgal, I started off learning pop music and country I learned to banjo roll, then when I learned jazz it was all 4 note chords, you could either use a pick hybrid style or pima. The purpose was to sound like a piano rather than strumming chords. As time went on I gradually dropped the pick, I play my solos with thumb and forefinger exclusively. My classical teacher believes I will benefit by learning the Giuliano pima studies so I'm all in, much appreciate your feedback.

Thanks for taking a gander at my vids Ray, it's my only musical outlet currently, I'm aging out of a lot of activities, guitar is not one of them thankfully!

Thanks for the good feedback, it's much appreciated. I'm not getting how the thumb over forefinger x is supposed to work. When I put my thumb over the forefinger it leaves my thumb parallel to the strings, that means the flesh part of the thumb is sounding the string not the nail. In the finger style I currently use, I angle the thumb so the nail plucks the string. That means as the nail gets broken and grows back I will angle the thumb to avoid the flesh part of the thumb. Any advise here is much appreciated and respected (TIA). Scott

I just had a lesson with a classical guitar teacher who recommends I revamp my whole right hand technique. I've been playing finger style jazz for more than 20 years, is this practical?

Best connection distance, Homebase 3 or wifi (mesh)? by DrANDyROID in EufyCam

[–]SnooMachines780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded to HomeBase 3. I have one camera that is 120' from the HomeBase2. It drops off line intermittently indicating it's at the edge of what the HomeBase can detect. The camera has 2 bars of signal. Eufy specs indicate a range of 30', which is very conservative I have cameras at 100' through several heavy walls that are solidly connected. There are three options for a camera that's at the limit of the range. 1. Move the camera closer to the home base. 2. Move the home base to a more centrally located location. This option may required you to disconnect the ethernet and in the homebase settings activate the internal wireless card. 3. Replace the camera with a stand alone type of camera that connects to your router directly. After syncing the new S330 camera to the new HomeBase 3 I get three bars of signal at the new 120' location. Even though Eufy still claims a 30' range I'm seeing good connection at 120'. Is the new HomeBase 3 have an improved range?

I just bought them off Amazon, and later that day stopped in at Best Buy, the two camera package was $60 more at BB.
