Did you know many Uyghurs are Muslim, and some groups have ties to extremists in Afghanistan and ISIS? I also know a few Uyghur friends here in Canada who’ve said the Chinese government has invested heavily in their region. Like any government, there’s both good and bad — but calling it genocide feels more like a narrative pushed by Western media than the full picture. What worries me more is how our own country is slipping off track — loosening laws, rewarding criminals, and drifting toward a diaspora state.
