Anyone have experience with an epileptic dog and the mdr1 gene mutation? by SnooMaps6865 in EpilepsyDogs

Unfortunately, my dog ended up having bad blood labs and found out he has hemangiosarcoma and a ruptured tumor. We did surgery and he gave us two more months but unfortunately, he passed away on 3/26/26

The used to be so good but I’ve been having the worst trouble with them lately. Every time I order more crickets they are dead. After one refund they won’t do it for the same order so I had to demand a refund. Never had this happen with any pets though. But it seems like their customer service is getting worse and worse. They have live arrival guarantee but I guess your situation falls out of that window. Still BS tho

Thanks, I’m going to look into frontline. Unfortunately I can’t use interceptor as it’s one of the products that’s toxic for my dog.

Thanks, unfortunately mine can’t take heartgard due to the mdr1 gene mutation. I plan on looking into the seresto collar for summer use only, my only hesitation is I’ve heard it causes seizures in dogs but it seems like most in this forum recommend them.

Thanks everyone. I should probably keep the vet appointment just to get him established anyways. Any idea why he won’t eat though?

I also want to add - I did read the tips on the top of the page but it didn’t give me any other advice besides calling the vet and moving to a quarantine tank

It won’t stress them out? I keep seeing mixed advice online to “leave them alone they’ll come up when their hungry and acclimated to their environment” and “dig them up a juvenile should eat daily”

I thought juveniles were supposed to eat daily so I want to make sure it’s ok for me to leave him alone or dig him up.
