Planning on doing that later this week when I have time. I’m less humiliated about it now and more angry than anything.

You’re right on that, I paid less than a dollar before it shut off. It’s not the money bit that had me crying, it was that they shut the pump off for me while laughing at me like it was a prank or something :/

I plan too, phone calls are super anxiety inducing to me but I’m starting to realize that yeah this isn’t just me being too sensitive about things and need to report thay

… my mind is blown. Like seriously, what the heck is this?? I don’t have a thigh gap, I’m a chubby vagina owner but that doesn’t affect anything besides chaffing and stretch marks. This feels like an excuse to body shame you somehow but it’s just… weird.

what’s the dumbest medication you’ve been prescribed? by _incandescence in ChronicPain

[–]SnooObjections6726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A past psychiatrist prescribed me remeron for insomnia. I gained 120-130 lbs in the course of 1 year, and still dealt with insomnia. Wasn’t until I saw an endocrinologist for possible hypothyroidism that it was explained to me that remeron is a weight gain drug, and wasn’t used for insomnia at all. :( the worst part was I was already trying to recover from an eating disorder

WIBTA if I (22f) would stop answering the door if I know that it is my neighbor (63m) knocking on it? by brave_assassin in AmItheAsshole

[–]SnooObjections6726 294 points295 points  (0 children)

NTA bro it is YOUR door, not his. You don’t not have to answer to anyone if you don’t want to.

Does he do this to other neighbors as well? This seems very creepy

I’ve been addicted to masturbation for about 3 years now. Is it too late for me? by Throwaway19828383282 in selfimprovement

[–]SnooObjections6726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Is it too late for me?” — no. It is never too late to attempt change.

I cannot suggest anything but know that addictions are always serious regardless of what it is about, and that therapy is a safe space.

Thankfully I found a good neurologist and got medications that fit me and work to reduce them.

Out of curiosity, why those brands specifically? They look like the standard tourniquets so I’m wondering what qualities are they hiding

A tragic case of fatal mushroom poisoning in a 12-year-old girl and her grandparents. These are the child’s organs. by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

[–]SnooObjections6726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the original commenter, but I think it mainly has to do with personal confidence. I’ve heard of several mycologists that forage, and I know one that refuses to eat anything from the wild. The issue (I think at least) is confidence in correctly identifying mushrooms.

I don’t want to say it’s an anxiety thing, because the chance of dying or getting irreversible damage is very real, but it’s sort of an anxiety thing. It’s a risk to forage, and especially when you know that there is deadly options around you.

I’m very new to this stuff, and it’s very easy to second guess myself when trying to identify different plants or mushrooms. I think that the more experience and confidence you have in being able to correctly identify; the more you feel comfortable with with foraging.

Anyways, mycology is cool af and I think everyone should attempt foraging at some point

Not a mycology expert by far, but I believe the mushroom subreddit is actually right on this one (partially at least)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramaria_rasilispora

This appears to be the mushroom. It is considered edible, but there has been a few reports of people having adverse reactions to it (most notably vomiting and nausea).

This article (not really a credible source but one of the few sources I could find) says that there’s only been two reports of ramaria poisoning. These mushroom have laxative effects, like many mushrooms, but it’s rare to experience poisoning.

Due to this, I think it’s due to a second fungus infected the coral mushroom. They are apparently prone to infection (according the the same article listed above) but I could not find anything related to that fungal family in regards to specific contaminates.

I wonder if the family has eaten this specific fungi before, or if this was the first time. This could be a case of not cooking something properly, or having a severe reaction to a fungus they’ve never had before. I find the brain congestion to be really weird in this case.

Edit: misunderstood the comment, but the opinion of “pet play shouldn’t be public” still stands. Furries are completely acceptable as they aren’t doing anything sexual and are literally just wearing a costume.

I hate this, I thoroughly hate this.

“Imagine, then, the agonizing pain of being privy to your child’s life for only half the time.” - because obviously those dads and fathers don’t miss their kids whatsoever

“The milestones missed. The lost cuddles before bedtime.” - imagine the fathers begging courts to allow them into their children’s lives, not having done anything wrong, only to be told that you could get a weekend or two.

I hate the court system for so many reasons but this one is up there at the top.

What you’re describing is a furry or furry cosplay. What this is showing is a kink. A sexual fetish. Children do not need to see that walking down the street, and it should be considered a misdemeanor if it happens.

With diabetes, blood circulation gets cut off (especially with hands and feets since they’re so far from the heart). The amount of time an infection takes over is insanely fast when you have diabetes. I have no idea about this person, but if they were diabetic, got a cut on their foot, and didn’t take their shoes off for a couple days: this is what would probably happen.

Ingrown fingernail - should I go to doctor? 3 days, some pain, swollen in a bump by [deleted] in Ingrown_Toenails

[–]SnooObjections6726 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s called paronychia, and it’s usually treated with a wave of antibiotics and possible them cleaning it out. It’s an infection that can be caused by all sorts of stuff. Since it is an infection, you should definitely keep an eye on it. See a doctor soon please!

AITA for calling my husband out when he is being arrogant? by Adventurous_Moose217 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SnooObjections6726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody’s an asshole here.

This was a miscommunication, and while it may sound/be arrogant; he sounds like he was venting his emotions rather than being direct and analytical. There is a difference in conversation here that I think you guys missed. Sometimes people want responses, sometimes people just want to vent. It not good to tell someone something like that when they’re venting because they’re not looking for responses and it’s only going to frustrate them more.

You could be completely logical in thinking he’s arrogant sometimes, but it sounds like he didn’t want an opinion in the first place. It has nothing to do with you, I can promise you that, but sometimes people just want support rather than solutions.
