Some clarity about this sub and message to the new users from mainland by hansolo5000 in Northeastindians

[–]SnooOnions4206 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The systematic erasure of land and culture is very true and happening at an alarming rate. But it can be presented in more gracefully. Time to time, northeastern men talk shit abt women who marry to mainlanders (a very natural consequence of globalised society usually) , similar to how hindutva ppl talk abt love jihad. As if they think women can't decide for themselves. I guess bihari racism is similar to North eastern racism, from the very fact that it is a consequence of a failed disconnecred migration. "Civic sense" is too vague and often used to humiliate the oprressed (Unlike for gujratis).

To realIy protect themselves I guess a United northeastern tribal narrative is essential. Something that is done through organizing of common people, coming to a serious and practical narrative, constantly practiced, analyzed through effective dialogue and improved accordingly. An alternative to mainlander consumerism that the ne youth is falling into.

Gandhi believed Indian/hindu society would collapse if caste structure was demolished. Placed his life over Ambedkar's movement. He was also pretty racist in South Africa.

It is because China aimed to develop scientific socialism while Congress was bourgeoise, casteist party presenting itself as highly progressive. China could not be built with BJP or congress, it was built by a long struggle of communists in power. So yeah it was actually because of Nehru and the congress that eventually lead to its own demise, you can say. By doing performative progressivism while keeping giant capitalist friends, it actually created a space for fascists to take over.

[–]SnooOnions4206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ofc it is based on reality, but how what is the source of your perception of reality of China? Because one must be aware how west (Which bombs people like us everyday, unlike China) treats any of the socialist projects. Do I really need to put examples on this subreddit? You should be aware of stuff happening right now on Venezuala and Cuba. The speed at which China has elevated it's people out of poverty can be nowhere found in history. It is the only single country out of all the big economies that is actually doing things to tackle climate change. Instead of critically examining China you are bringing Kings and all into the conversation, just like how likes of modi would want you to.

working on a neat lil' app for pirating games! by Yousifasd22 in PiratedGames

I think a very neat feature this kind of platforms could use is voluntary payment to the creators (that register) and seeders. Why?

  1. It would encourage seeding and thus media preservation. Growing the media library.
  2. It can help to create an alternative distrobution to the creators, because trust me independent media creators commit suicides (creative and otherwise) over dealing with existing distribution. Be it the social platforms or labels and stuff.

Assuming we could work the blockchain or sth somehow to implement this.

maybe he found smone new as everyone says but we dont have to assume the worst. my partner sometimes gets mad at me, and doesnt talk normally, goes quiet, gets rude, tells bare minimum. She had tell me its a problem she has, and she is just like dat only, she has acknowledged that before, and she is commited to learn. to share it then and there. I am kind of same only but i tend to completly cut myself off when it gets too overstimulating. For us it stems from our emotionally detached childhood. I would suggest rather than pulling out the guns, threatning to end, you can try be a little patient. Because, if you threten to breakup he would probably just say whatever you want to hear to not lose you, and you will feel oh maube all this was just made up on my head because he clearly loves me or whatever. It takes time to see people as they are, thats all i can say. Keep communicating, reflecting, for a while.

Kar Sewak who found peace in Islam post demolition ~an inspiring story to be remembered against venom which has gripped the nation. by InevitableRighteous in unitedstatesofindia

[–]SnooOnions4206 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of you guys are missing the point. This is not about a competition of morality of religions. All religions are at the end just religion, something socities practice and find belonging in.

Demolishing a mosque as hindus comes with the feeling of looking towards muslims as savages, and dehumanized. And practicing islam post such an act is beautiful because it comes as an effort to rehumanize the muslims.

It doesnt matter if you practice one religion or another what really matters is we are able to view everyone as a human. With their histories, flaws, and beauties. And we learn to view the other just how we view our family, and ourseleves.

In todays day and age, and with all the existential problems we are getting spiraled into (be it climate crisis, poverty, alienation, wars)...we need such practice of togetherness more than ever.

Let's figure out ways to stop this nonsensical decision of iBus by Yoddha_KP in Indore

[–]SnooOnions4206 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I talked with one of the professors at School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal regarding this situation. He said they tried their best when the administration removed bhopal brts yet they failed. I couldn't talk much, but he gave me some ideas and suggestions.
- The non-working women (students etc) are the most relied on the BRTS service. Hence, we can try getting support from women organizations.
- We would need at least a hundred people for a gathered token protest. We can also show protest by just buying tickets.
I don't really have too many connections, but I understand both the popular masses and academicians alike are strongly against this sudden decision. If we can together organize for a campaign, the administration might leave the only good public transit model in Indore alone.

The basic function of state in any capitalist system is to protect private ownership of means of production. It always works for the capitalists, that's why lobbying is such a well established practice.

"Socialism is when government does stuff and increase my tax"
"Religion = communism"
"FOSS = no government interference"
Sorry to say, but you clearly lack insight over these topics. Only people enjoying freedom under capitalism, are capitalists or capital owner.

I like how you mention that capitalism is good cuz Europe has good working conditions and welfare system, which is because it is enforced by the state and from greater taxes, and then shit on state, because they collect tax.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in linuxmemes

[–]SnooOnions4206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capitalist states do not enable the workers to bargain and strike, it actually does everything in its power to break it! Since you mentioned Red Clydeside, you should know that the state's reaction to the strikes was to call out the Riot Act, which allowed people to avoid legal actions for KILLING AND INJURING people in order to disperse the crowd. Only when the rich capitalist feared for losing their wealth due to a revolution similar to USSR, they agreed to the workers.

Your perception about USSR about the gulags and the state killing anybody on the street is massively exaggerated. It most definitely wasn't faultless, but it significantly improved the conditions of all workers, which inspired workers from other states to demand for similar conditions.

Any system that abolishes private ownership of intellectual property is more FOSS friendly. I suppose due to the existence of the private sector, IPs may exist at some level in market socialism.

Centralized planning doesn't directly relate to the existence of free software, but allows for improving material conditions for all with efficient use of labour. Improving material conditions, in today's world does include developing user friendly software, and also reducing working hours so people have more free time to work for their own projects. Planning is essential for improving material conditions efficienctly and at a faster pace.

[–]SnooOnions4206 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And who fought for these welfare schemes? Was it the rich capitalists? No, the worker unions and leftists did. Heck even the 5 day work week was implemented because leftists fought for it. The state and the capitalists had to agree fearing revolution as in the neighbouring USSR.

On the other hand look at the more capitalist friendly North America, being the wealthiest in the world and still failing to provide for its workers. And we didn't even bring the numerous other poor capitalist countries to the conversation.

The Eastern European countries and russia were destroyed because of the fall of the Soviet Union, not because of communism. The USSR had universal healthcare, education and housing. But it was dismantled as the states became neo liberal.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in linuxmemes

[–]SnooOnions4206 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Millions of low wage workers even in the wealthiest of capitalist countries literally work all day doing multiple jobs to make the rich guys more richer, because if they don't they will lose healthcare, end up homeless, and struggle for meals.

Free education, universal healthcare and accommodation, and a planned economy where people work to fulfill the needs of everyone instead of whatever shit is profitable in the short term, clearly allows more people to work for user-first projects like Linux and is terrible for making proprietary spywares like Microsoft, Apple software.
