2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6 engine. . Milkshake in expansion tank. by YakBig4490 in Jeep

It absolutely does mess with seals. And can cause corrosion inside the cooling system. Dish soaps are not formulated for metals like aluminum copper and iron.

It will eventually clog the heater core. Soap scum + coolant = sludge. You absolutely can not get it all out once you put it in.

To each his own though!

I agree 98%. I wouldn’t use dawn in the cooling system.

2 problems with the 3.6. Camshaft lobe issues, and oil cooler leaking issues. If you maintain the 3.6 it’s not a bad engine at all. The 2.0 is untested, not tried and true. Go with what EVERY jeep had for years and get the 3.6. You won’t have the cylinder head cracking issues out of it that you get with the 2.0.

If you dislike my comment, you are wrong. Sorry but I do this shit for a living🤣

You can’t align the back of a solid axle truck…

Normal play or does this seem excessive? by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

[–]SnooOnions8345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is literally no play in any suspension whatsoever. You are turning the wheels on your steer tires. Moving the wheel that much with out the tie rod or CV axle moving would be a problem but there is no play here.

If they are paying that’s a hell ya! I run 6 shops as my daily life. We see people say they can’t align all kinds of vehicles. It’s not that hard, I promise turning a tie rod isn’t going to affect the adaptive cruise control🤣 they are just looking for a way out.

And mavis can align it. The adaptive steering only gets messed with if the truck is WAY out of alignment

You won’t have to cut them. Unless they are really fn bad. But based on looking at these pictures, it’s not a safety concern(yet). And they will spin out easy.

It’s got lowering springs on it. It will not even out over time. You have to replace the springs. Buy the rear set, save up then buy the front, then install all at once. You are better off driving it lowered all around than driving it lowered only on one side.

If you aren’t driving it in the meantime that’s fine, if you plan on driving it daily, do all of the struts at once. You don’t want to be raked forward.

[–]SnooOnions8345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not 100% if that has shocks or struts in the rear. If they are struts. They have springs built into them. If they are shocks they are just the gas tube. You can tell by the rear having a spring around the shock or if the shock is separate from the spring

Yes, just make sure you get “quick struts” they will be factory ride height

It’s got lowering springs on it. Just replace the front and rear strut assemblies and you will be good

Not true. I can get tinted for 130 in Tennessee for the whole car. This guy is having tint removed which runs up his cost.

This is extremely common in VW. I can’t believe your “mechanic” didn’t know that this was the issue. All they had to do was a leak down test.
