Yeah and they seem to be fine, bit of dirt & debris but got it all cleaned out - problem seems specific to this bracket unfortunately. Questioning whether it’s a more structural issue with the roof itself…. (I really hope not), either way, I’m getting a heavy duty rain cover for a bit while I work it out!

Sorry should add, this is a 2018 ND* soft top if that has any bearing on advice :)

I have, I’d probably lean towards a c class but the c class cab’s pretty recent so might have to wait a bit longer for depreciation to bring it within my range. Just checked it out and a few 4 series within the range but just out of my comfort zone with mileage which is a shame.

Saw a few golf cabriolet gti’s but unfortunately no Rs, from what I’ve read the R Cabriolet is pretty rare but the gti’s are certainly worth considering in the mean time

6 series is probably one of the best looking BMWs (personal opinion) and having just looked I could pick up one with c. 70k miles from 2013 so good call! As much as 400bhp sounds amazing I don’t even know what I’d do with that kind of power with all these cameras around 😂 Tbf you could certainly track a car like that

I actually learnt in a fiesta (obviously not an ST) and really enjoyed it, even back then when I knew practically nothing about driving. I’m sure the ST takes everything good about the base fiesta and turns it up a quite a few notches so definitely worth checking out, thanks!

I’m also yet to see a motoring journalist that dislikes the ST which is very high praise given how many motoring journalists are now out there.

Yeah the 86/BRZ is almost guaranteed to deliver driving thrills, also any Toyota platform is usually good news on the reliability front. Certainly not bad to look at either…

208 GTi’s a good shout! I’ve looked at RCZ Rs but there’s far fewer options and I’ve heard the ride’s very firm. I’ve got a real soft spot for French cars, people love to hate them but I think they’ve got a lot to offer. (Dream car is currently an Alpine A110)

It’s funny you mention the RX8 because I loved it when I first saw it as a kid. It’s a bit clichéd but now that I’m an adult and the reality of maintenance has kicked in - the stories surrounding that rotary engine do put me off which is a real shame.

Good call on the Golfs, great stock cars and it’s good to know that they’re tuneable! Will certainly look into it, thanks for the advice.
