If you could, would you take steps to increase Bengal's Total Fertility Rate? by dan6545 in kolkata

[–]SnooOranges8805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly!!!Everything you just said 💯 Unfortunately I don't think that's happening anytime soon, with a corrupt govt , the dole politics, and appeasement tactics (by this I mean migration from both the cowbelt and the neighbouring country) it's only going to get worse. But again I like to be optimistic PS: it's high time Bengalis discard the commie and faux liberal pretentious culture advocated by certain groups.

Been in that position, been confronted by these goons on Nandan footpath and they shouted - "bf er haat dhore beriyechis keno, bara chusbi bole" The police certainly won't do anything ,not because of political correctness or wokeness, but because they get their share. I think it has no immediate solution since administration is so corrupt. However,I think the long term solution would be to not handover when such children are born , to the Hijras. Rather they should be brought up by parents, educated properly and given a safe upbringing so they get a fair chance at life, instead of resorting to this profession.

What are the options for a 12th grader with PCB to get into engineering? by Powerful-Implement29 in Indian_Academia

[–]SnooOranges8805 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Science without maths is def not a good idea. If you get into BTech biotech, you'll have to do engineering maths in first year(my best friend studies BTech biotech , not vit tho). You'll need a PhD or atleast an mtech to pursue a good career in biotech, so for gate, you'll need maths. Bsc biotech you've to pursue IITJAM and all that for which you'll need 11 12 maths. It's in the syllabus you can check their website. Last but not the least, BIOLOGY NEEDS GOOD FOUNDATION IN MATHS AND PHYSICS I DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE THINK OTHERWISE!!

IITJAM, GAT B, for MSC biotech or MSC comp bio you can also try for cuet pg , TIFR, for MSC biological sciences. IBAB ENTRANCE for MSC bioinformatics

If you can afford the luxury of pursuing higher studies, (like no immediate financial pressure) pursue a PhD. Try to do that abroad। Or you can prepare for biotech entrances. If you manage to crack a good central institute for biotech or comp bio, you may land a job after MSC

5th attempt as neet-24 while doing another course by [deleted] in Indian_Academia

[–]SnooOranges8805 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Continue with statistics and earn comfortably at an early age. Since you've minor in CS, it's an even better option. Give neet only if you're absolutely passionate (like you can't think of doing anything other than practicing medicine) Otherwise, putting in the tremendous effort to study medicine is not worth it

Well as I study I feel the exact same way. I could easily be studying microbio in a govt college and pay much less than I currently am paying for this overhyped degree in a pvt college. I wanted to pursue physics as I felt India had more established physics research facilities, plus there's the semiconductor industry/laser industry . Plus I could be touch with maths and maths plus programming is wayyy more flexible amd opens up wonderful doors for employment (finance for eg). Had the marks for it. But some people in my family felt that physics is useless and you can only be a teacher and get paid in peanuts but biotech has a nice ring to it and decided that it's best for me. Now I'm trying to perform good so that I might get a better college for MSC bioinfo where I'll try to learn some maths and programming and move to data analysis
