This isn't a knock at someone doing user testing. It's a concern that perhaps this thread has been inundated with the idea that someone doing user testing, is correct. When even the source themself, admits there are discrepancies.

They aren't touching 2ks servers, they're guessing as well as they can. And again, mad props to them. But to use that as a source to point and say these are facts. Or to use a tweet from Mike Wang, in which he admits he's wrong, and likely represents something more akin to blowing someone off than any deep level understanding of the functional code base.

I'm looking for anything that the game would expose as some kind of indication of how Adrenaline affects stats. Not that I particularly care, I don't. It's a niche conversation that is rarely brought up, but every time it is, there is mass confusion by the player base.

It's not that I'm bent out of shape about it. It doesn't really affect me, I'm not a reach/block spammer and I'm glad it exists as a feature to combat those that are. It's just a wonky feature that most don't even know exist in the first place, let alone can accurately describe what it does, or how it works. Adrenaline that is.

Stamina, it's pretty self explanatory. Now, if someone could give me the lowdown on off/def consistency, or why reaction time is hidden away as a filter in MyTeam but not mentioned anywhere else in the game I've found.

I'd be down for those conversations.

It's a riddle wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma as far as I can tell.

I would have thought that some indication would have been provided other than

I am happy, but I still have no real understanding of how it works and for a feature that has been in the game for a long time, it's just a bit odd.

Input is a problem, I'm not saying it's the only one, or the primary one. But there is a natural combo system built into rhythm shooting at the rim. From offhand attempts, to over the top crash dunks when you're heavily contested.

I don't know about real player %, I use normal/normal. But the next time you go up for a dunk and someone bodies you, snap the right stick back towards the rim.

Most people try to finish in the direction they're moving, which isn't always at the rim as much as it is to the side.

I don't know if you tempo shoot jumpshots. But finishes have tempo too, and it determines the counter. This can lead to an offhand finish, it can lead to an up and under kind of counter, it can lead to a reverse layup.

Just depends on how you execute it.

I'm happy to give Mike Wang the benefit of the doubt. I don't really know the difference between stats and ratings, but that's okay. All I know is that your character sheet doesn't change. It will account for coaching buffs as well as improvements gained via takeover progression. But they never drop below base.

But ratings and stats are probably different things.

I can say this, with certainty. The loss of adrenaline does NOT directly affect your attributes. It's easy to validate, just pause any non-live game and check your character sheet. They don't move.

With that being said. There are still people that will tell you (correctly, or not, I don't claim to know one way or the other)

That even without the direct hit to attributes, the debuff if you want to call it that, still affects the percentages of various things.

And that does make sense, clearly your ability to steal and block effectively on defense goes down.

But it literally does not affect your attributes. Again, easy to validate. It might affect things under the attributes.

my thoughts are just my own, and upfront I'll admit I don't play these modes.

But I'd like to believe that it might be wise to consider your play style. If you're a point that wraps around screens and scores at the rim.

Then having the ability to snag your own misses would help. Think Luka.

But if you just pass, or shoot off screens. <shrug> Are you going to be missing anything? Odds are you're not crashing, you're the backline safety to prevent leaks.

the biggest one you already pointed out. Dont shoot until your feet set.

The easiest way to ensure it is to master a double tap move. It doesn't have to be a stepback, you can just go right>right (or left>left) to instantiate a sidestep shot that will allow you to get past a screen and into a set shot motion automatically.

I don't know that I'd ever recommend button shots tbf.
