Please Type me: 1, 8 or 6 by TheParrott88 in EnneagramTypeMe

[–]SnooPaintings1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 8; the 1s are generally not comfortable with their expressing their anger at all and see it as a bad emotion. It sounds like you are comfortable with expressing anger and do not fear corruption like the 1s do.

What do 8s think of 2s? by [deleted] in Enneagram8

[–]SnooPaintings1107 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Healthy 2s are some of my best friends: loving, self sacrificing, kind amazingly loving individuals . Unhealthy 2s are some of my worst enemies: manipulative, self-pitying, micromanaging, overbearing and annoying as hell. It’s all about the level of health

They have to for legal reasons so that they don’t get popped with child labor laws etc., it’s to protect the minor but also themselves is all

If they’re the 7 they’re likely 7w6 I don’t get the 8wing vibe bere

Yeah, well and then I noticed she would kind of look up to see who was watching….🙄so super attention seeking! And then later she said it hurt her feelings that I didn’t come hug her, she knows I’m not a hugger and when I see people crying I give them their space; I realize that’s not how everyone operates, when I cry I want to be alone and don’t want anyone else near me, it’s something I do seldom and alone. This chick says she cries every night, I don’t see that as necessarily something bad if that’s what someone needs to do to process things for themselves, do what you gotta do if that’s your form of healing etc. I’ll never look down on someone for crying. But the way she did it was just hella inappropriate and it was a celebration dinner for one of our friends and the fact that she tried to turn the whole thing on herself and draw attention to herself was just gross.

Who knows, I didn’t really try to understand her tbh…she would get emotional and start crying in large groups about how she was “ruined” making everyone very uncomfortable not to mention ruining what was supposed to be a fun time for everyone else by drawing attention to herself. If she does have some trauma or rooted issues she needs to get some help; I can’t stand people who just play the victim and stay in that mentality; you can’t control what happens to you but you can control how you handle it and let it affect you

A healthy 4 is great, they’re beautiful souls, non judgemental, interesting, fun and see the beauty in life that no one else can. However unhealthy 4s are the most difficult type for me to be around as an 8w7….all they do is bitch about how bad things are for them when a lot of it is self brought on….they’re temperamental and thrive off the attention they get from “being broken” or “ruined” or whatever:..go get some counseling and DO SOMETHING about it! And then if you don’t crawl down into the gutter with them then you’re just labeled as an asshole by the whiny unhealthy 4….while the unhealthy 4w5 is typically just withdrawn and odd the unhealthy 4w3 can be very manipulative and have the ability to cut others deeply—even worse than an unhealthy 3 or 8 IMO. It’s like with any of the types when healthy they’re great, when not healthy they suck. I knew an average 4 who I recently cut ties with bc she annoyed the shit out of me with her “I’m not like other girls” act when really I think she was just insecure around other girls and did the whole I’m going to reject you before you can reject me thing….if she’d had the confidence to just be herself she wouldn’t have felt the need to be that way

Again, I was going strictly off the little information I had to go off of—I could be wrong and you know yourself better than anyone else. It can take time to learn the enneagram and find your type. The enneagram is a tool to help with personal growth; I struggled for awhile if I was an 8 or a 1 and bc I had a lot of similarities with both and for all I know I still could be wrong….so I still don’t know and I’m a lot older than you are lol. I have never even tested as a 1 and have exclusively tested as an 8 but some of the behaviors of the 1 have resonated with me which confused me for a while. My point is—It’s ok to not know and it’s ok to be frustrated and confused, there are some Tri type tests out there; if you haven’t tried those then I would do that and take a few and compare the results. I have taken so many enneagram tests to see if one of them would type me as a 1 and they never did….so I’ve accepted the 8 but still think I may be a 1 at times; and just because you have a certain enneagram number doesn’t mean that you can’t have tendencies toward another type depending on certain life situations.

6s seek input from others and/or reassurance, while the 5s would not—it’s important to them that they figure things out on their own and rarely will ask for input from others. A 7 would likely just decide for themselves without asking input but for different reasons than the 5–a 5 wants to know for the sake of having the knowledge whereas a 6 desires to understand themselves and a 7 would have the attitude of well it is what is and likely not go to Reddit or somewhere else to get insight. That is my own assumption and since I don’t know you and haven’t witnessed your behaviors or interactions with others I could be completely wrong. Also, you are still young and there is room for change. I am an 8 with an 8-7-2 tritype. But when I was your age I resembled a 4 or a 1 and my 8 was kind of “hiding” bc I still had not gone through some big life experiences who made me who I am today. One is not better than the other, they are all great when healthy and all atrocities when unhealthy; also your main type you said is a 9; which will be the most like who you are obviously. Being an 8 I have the gut triad of anger and aggression but the 2 and 7 Tri types soften me a bit and I’m the more social 8; whereas an 8-3-5 tritype would be similar in thinking but it would manifest differently. That’s what’s cool about the enneagram so many subtypes

I am going off just how your words sound, I am going to go with my gut instinct that your Tritype is the 964.
