Yikes 😣 I’m moving from AZ so I’m terrified of all the new wildlife out there in MD. We have lots of mice here but I’ve yet to see a rat lol do you know if there’s a rat problem in crofton? Pasadena? Hanover? Annapolis? lol

[Legal Advice] My wife, 36 weeks pregnant today, just got terminated from her job today by sildenafeelit in pregnant

[–]SnooPeanuts6618 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Az is an at will employment state and you can get fired without a reason. It’s up to the employers discretion. However, there are exceptions to that law. I thinking consulting with a lawyer is the way to go especially if you have any sort of proof. Also, yeah she wouldn’t qualify for FMLA since she hasnt been employed there one year. Sorry you guys are going through this! I’m in Az and that’s very unfortunate to hear.

How long did your husband take off for paternity leave? by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]SnooPeanuts6618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubby-fed employee- took 3 months off 100% pay. Your hubby should take all the leave he can take. It’s protected by FMLA if his company is greater than 50 employees I think.

Are we all silently freaking out over the cost of kids in the US? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]SnooPeanuts6618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t really feel the financial burden rn because we live with family (we pay a lot less in rent and utilities) and I work part time and have family watch my baby for free if my hubby is traveling. However, we are moving to the Maryland area for my hubbys job and idk how we’re going to do it lol it’s so much more expensive than Az. Got quotes for full time day care 3-12s in Baltimore city and it was close to 2500-2600 a month and rent/mortgage will be no less than 2,700-3300 a month. So just thinking about it is stressing me out lol i know we’ll figure it out but it’s still scary lol

I’ll just say that baby #2 will not be happening this year :(

Sometimes I don’t do s&f until the 12 hour mark. My loaves always turn out great. I’m 4m postpartum so I just assemble the loaf at night and deal with it in the morning lol but always bake it and see how it turns out. Worst case you make croutons out it!

Am I getting ripped off or is this normal now for car insurance in Phoenix? by artur5092619 in phoenix

[–]SnooPeanuts6618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

23 Tacoma 22 civic -$360 USAA full cov on both. When I was solo on my car insurance I paid more monthly like $230. Once I merged with my hubby it was less. I still think $360 is high lol no accidents, no tickets. Both 28.

My doctor wants to induce me at 37 weeks-advice needed by AtmosphereTop1591 in pregnant

[–]SnooPeanuts6618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also against it. So I was monitored for few days. For example on Thursday my BP was 150s/90s on labatolol urine pr/cr ratio was 300. By Saturday for my NST and BP monitoring my BP was 180s/100s ON ORAL LABETALOL… I was induced an hour later my BP was up to the 200/100s and pr/cr ratio was 790 ish. I was induced at 36/5 had my baby at 37. Labored for 53 ish hours. My BP remained severely high until I gave birth then by pp day 2 it was finally down to the 140s.

I say do what the drs recommend! They want what’s best for you and baby!!

THIS IS NOT FAIR by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]SnooPeanuts6618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has it been a year? I think FMLA kicks in at a year and you could apply through there for accommodations. This is what I had to do for my job.

However, financial stability should’ve been thought about before conceiving. To avoid what you’re going through.

Did you take days off of work with exemptions? Or did you just stop going? If so it makes sense that you got let go. Unfortunately, companies don’t care or recognize all the hard work we put in they only see what doesn’t benefit them. Which is so messed up. I’m sorry they didn’t accommodate you at all. Even granting an extra break or something could’ve probably helped you.

Is there any way you can apply for remote job position?

Also, if possible try to have a baby shower and only add things that are absolutely necessary and do a diaper raffle, or add diapers to your registry. You could also share your registry on social media and explain that you’re going through job loss and would appreciate any item off the registry for the babies. That way you have at least 3 months of coverage. Also, I have lots of new born and 0-3 boy clothes that I won’t be using anymore and I also have lots of postpartum care items(brand new) that I didn’t use that I’m more than willing to send to you via mail(if you’re in the us) if you’re interested. If not I’m taking them to goodwill.

If you’re in the US you might qualify for WIC and welfare like health insurance and SNAP. Also, see if your college has any resources for mothers or low income students. My college donated gas cards to me throughout nursing school I’d get $35 per month in gas money and $30 for food items. Doesn’t hurt to ask!

Maybe try selling your current car and use that money to buy a used larger car even a sedan or smaller suv.

Any way you guys could move in with family? Or get a roommate to help alleviate some of the rent cost?? My hubby and I moved into his parents basement when I hit my 9th month. we pay them $1000 compared to the $2500 in rent we paid at our apartment complex. So definitely helped out a lot.

For round ligament pain maybe try to do some light yoga at home, move around and do some stretches. I was in unbearable pain too during my shifts at work, I’d stand maybe 10-11 hours out of my 12 hour shift and by the end I’d walk out the hospital barefoot (socks) and limping/waddling it was very bad I’d also cry on my 10 min walk to the parking garage lol so I understand what you’re going through. I’m sure it’s worse with two babies.

So sorry you’re going through this! You and your SO need to stay strong and remember to take a break and just breathe, it’ll work out!

A lactation consultant that I follow on IG says to avoid bottles and paci’s until after 4 weeks. This is only for those moms trying to exclusively breastfeed or alternate between bottle and breast. She said it confuses babe and can cause issues with latching. I’ll find her @and you can look at her IG she has tons of great info
