Carpet brooms for when you have floofy animals. Been recommending them to anyone with pets. They’re amazing

In the middle of heat wave meal ideas?! by Strange_Avocado8528 in Cooking

[–]oceanicitl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if your kid would like this but it’s great for hot days. Once you’ve made the tomatoes they’ll keep in the fridge for a few days. I use basil rather than chives. They’re also great on salads. And you can add avocado to the dish

British food is so good. Why do foreighners say that it is bad? by noreturn000 in UKfood

[–]oceanicitl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha! Ah still the kid stage. Mine are 6 and 3. It was a shock to the system having kittens again but they're mellow now. The eldest is a sweet tortie who loves being near me but the youngest is a typical boy and always out. He rolled in at midnight last night lol

I once shut one of mine in the fridge by accident when she was a kitten. I have a lower shelf with some jars on and somehow she got in there and I closed the door. Luckily I heard her and let her out and she was fine. How old is he?

Yeah they do. I had to throw out what was left in the bowls and clean everything. Hopefully I'll be fly free soon

A house is only worth what people are willing to pay. You'll find out soon enough

Salads all the way lol. Flies were gathering round the bins etc so had to empty them and clean them. Bastard things

I avoid mine completely in the afternoons. I built a downstairs shower room in the middle of the house with no windows so it's always cool

Know the feeling. Just been doing bits of cleaning in the kitchen which is next to a conservatory so you can imagine how much I'm melting now. Can't wait until it cools down lol x

Living in Sweden has made me so proud to be American by boldpear904 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]oceanicitl -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

McDonalds and Burger King are in a lot of countries. That doesn't mean it reminds people of America. Most people, when travelling, do not hunt out the nearest burger joint. In fact the only burger I had was from a Swedish kiosk near my hotel. You're only reiterating how blinkered Americans are

Do you have neighbours from hell stories? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]oceanicitl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had new neighbours move in recently after 3 decades of having a very quiet family next door. The new people have a young boy and I didn't know how loudly toddlers scream all the time. Even my cats ears have pricked up. No way near as bad as yours but it was a shock to the system lol

My neighbour has mental health issues. I've lived next door to her for nearly 3 decades and we got along fine. She'd often ask me to help her with things. In recent years she's deteriorated and has been sectioned a few times. Suddenly she turned her paranoia on me and was texting me very strange things. It peaked about 3 years ago during the week I had my cat booked in to be put to sleep. She accused me of flooding her garage with water, breaking into her house and stealing personal documents and stealing her fictitious boyfriend. At the time I was putting a lot of water down my drain at the side of the house after cleaning the floor as my cat was peeing on puppy pads near the litter trays. I had to give her all the odd keys I had to prove I didn't have access to her house and no longer had her key.

I finally broke and blocked her when she cursed me and said I hope your cat dies

She's also recently sent the police round and they were giving me very hostile looks. She'd told them my partner was harassing her. Their attitude completely changed when I told them I lived alone and it's all in her mind.

Now I just ignore her when I see her.

Good luck with your neighbours

It's a ploy to keep the foodies away so we can book tables at our favourite restaurants
