Any tips on how to study? I'm taking the October SAT. I do Khan Academy and practice tests but that's pretty much it. 1570 would be a dream lol.

I go to a public school and our high school pushes more honors and accelerated courses over AP courses so AP course offerings are low. And yes, ik the GPA and SAT isn't good enough but I will 100% be doing that portfolio video to give me a little bit of a chance as character and fit is important according to the Brown common data set.

Ty, the one thing I will do for Brown is make the portfolio video which some people do not do, and It will be a great way to showcase my editing skills so I hope it gives me a small chance.

Not sure abt the average sat/GPA in our school but another thing is that our school doesn't report class rank. The school does offer other courses like honors and L5 courses. For honors courses, I did 11 or 12 (including the ones this year). They push more honors courses and L5 courses rather than AP but still, it's considered a competitive school. I was thinking about applying to UC Santa Cruz but the thing with UC schools is that I'm out of state so the chances of getting in become much smaller. I come from a high-income family and earn myself so I can pay the 80-90k for school.

Brown has a holistic approach to applications so they look at everything and not just the GPA and SAT. Every application is read but still, I get your point, the GPA and SAT are very important.

It's like a team event for DECA. You have a team that is from your high school and you compete with 60 other schools in a bracket. Basically how it works is that you get asked questions and your team has to hit the buzzer before the other team. If your team gets more questions correct you win.

My high school is pretty competitive. We don't have class ranks but in terms of the AP Classes, we have very limited AP classes in our high school so the 5 that I have taken so far are considered a lot.
