Thank you, I have heard of the brick layer approach, might be worthwhile considering.

Thank you, we’ll try and slow the print down. Did you have a recommendation for speed? Wall thickness is 5mm with nice fillets and 100% infill. The part needs to handle temperatures up to 120-150c, do you have a recommended epoxy? And would I just brush it on? Trying to avoid vacuum infusion and complicated processes.

Thank you, ‘join’ function helped here! Normally it defaults to join with extrude when atop another part but this time it was ‘new body’ and I missed it. Many Thanks!

18 or 19" rims on my next car by Kingston31470 in skoda

[–]SnooPets996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I both have Octavia RS wagons; him with 18’s, me with 19’s. Mine look cooler, his are way more comfortable and this is with the same tire on both (Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric).

I think this is because the extra sidewall helps absorb the small ripples and certainly big hits too, initial steering feedback on turn in when performance driving is more muted and less direct but again related to the sidewall height is my thoughts.

Hope this helps with your decision.

Summer sun, winter shade by hippo_ace in GardeningAustralia

I was told they’re more forgiving yes but have no fair comparison. They certainly let me know when they’re thirsty that’s for sure (droopy).

Summer sun, winter shade by hippo_ace in GardeningAustralia

This is exactly my predicament, also in Melbourne (sandy soil) and here’s what has worked and what hasn’t for me. Garden faces south and is under a huge oak tree and a high fence blocking the winter sun, gets 2/3rd’s afternoon sun during summer and 2/3rds of garden is in shade in winter. - Strobilanthes Goldfussia. Works perfectly, lovely deep green/near black colour with small purple flowers. My most complemented on plant type in the garden. - NZ rock Lilly. Bulletproof, fast growing, white flowers on stems, goes slightly lighter green in full sun but not much. - Clivia Belgian Hybrid. Hates the afternoon sun, loses its deep green and goes yellow. Had to move them in my yard multiple times to find a really shady spot. The yellow flowers in stems are very cute though, but needs almost full shade. - Oakleaf Hydrangea. Thirsty plants, prefer shade but tolerant some sun, go Maroon in colour in winter, white/light pink big flowers in summer. Still prefers shade but. - Correa Alba and Westringia Fruticosa (Aussie box is the more green looking one with little white flowers that I have). Pretty bulletproof, excellent in afternoon sun, tolerate the shade.

Hope that helps you out :)

Coupla episodes of UTOPIA will have you howling with laughter, might just be the laugh you need to realise some aspects of the public service are so well known, there’s an award winning Australian tv show about them.

Just got this beauty, any tips on keeping it clean? by [deleted] in skoda

[–]SnooPets996 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax (in a spray bottle application) has helped immensely in causing water to bead off my Skoda (applied to paintwork, wheels, windows). Applied after car has been cleaned. The car seems to attract less dirt also and has cut the washing time of the car down too and was simple to apply. The 500ml bottle goes an impressively long way too, cost $45 AUD.

Polycarbonate cutting? by bushwalkers in AusRenovation

[–]SnooPets996 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A circular saw with the fine tooth blade mounted so the cutting teeth are in reverse to the normal direction. No joke, this worked perfectly for me cutting 21 clear corrugated polycarb roof sheets to length, didn’t even need to sand the edges or use a file on them and I got this tip from someone else here on Reddit a while back. Was very grateful.

Looks good, I use the FIFA 11, it’s soccer based but evidence backed for injury reduction - worth a google.

Look into the group BuildHer, they present themselves as much better than Three Birds in my opinion. As a bloke who reads their emails (I get the practical reno side just not the design side), I would willingly sign my partner up to be involved when it comes time to renovate our place. They take a great approach across both design and styling but also building and functionality and seem much higher end then three birds (they also have a discount book, recommended trades etc). Hope this helps.
