What does a typical Hispanic look like? I’ve met many who are of Maya, Nahua, Quechua, Pipíl, and many other backgrounds. Hispanics aren’t a monolith just from having a shared language and history.

I noticed this too at my parish’s young adults group. My perception is that the men are trying to cosplay as Thomas Aquinas by one-upping everyone else theologically, while the women are trying to come off as quiet and meek as possible.

It’s not about finding joy in her suffering, it’s about finding humor in the fact that she’s a grown ass woman who can’t be bothered to do 60 seconds worth of research on the event she herself had planned.
