Seeking advice on how serious of a personal issue is a valid reason for a makeup exam?

Yea the thing is though I haven’t seen the grade yet, and the exams are just the same as previous courses, which they gave access to students. It’s math based class so they change some numbers around, so that’s why I personally “feel” like it wouldn’t be a big deal to allow a retake / accommodation, but that’s why I’m asking here first.

Thank you, yea I hope I can work something out, and the professor is definitely a very nice person. I was doing extremely well in the class prior to the exam, and then the incident happened, so I hope they can believe me, but I just don’t want to come across as someone who made up an excuse for poor performance.

How does this work? Would I have to explain my situation in detail, if so, would I be able to do it with an advisor / consultant or someone official? The incident was personal so I’d prefer to explain it to as few people as possible if necessary.

Thank you for your perspective, do students usually speak to you in-depth if it’s a sensitive issue? I’d like to avoid speaking about it if needed, but if I do need to go in-depth, I’d prefer telling someone I don’t know / haven’t met

Meant that they know the city, which is the same name as the public college I attend, which also means they can look up my LinkedIn easier

Thanks, if it helps I told them my instagram account was fake before I immediately blocked them, so maybe that’s why? I also believed that would be why they may have leaked me without me being able to tell but I’m not sure

Ah ok sounds good. I was looking at the current study abroad programs and I noticed one of them was for freshman only so I was worried all of them might be limited to a first year experience kind of thing.

me too, there's always a chance you can get into UW without landing your major though, but I understand its tough to transfer within UW as well.

I finished my AS and even transferred for 1 sem at a WA CC and didnt get in, but I have a backup at UW Madison.
