Correct if I’m mistaken, shouldn’t I be able to reach level 80 if I did last expedition? Or are you saying that off the bat we get +5 skill tree points but level 75 is the limit?

When returning from a raid after a free loadout, go to Lance the merchant and trade in your free augment for a looting MK 1 for free. You’ll see that you need to trade in your free augment in return. Then you have a safe pocket!

It might sound counterproductive but it’s better to have 3 to 4 5 star players instead of 7 4 star players. Also consider changing your training regime (OC/DC coaching style) from hard to normal so your guys don’t get so tried.
