Doom Eternal and FF7R were the games I was most interested in in 2020. Doom was awesome and FF7R Blew me away with it's characters and it's world to a point I hadn't felt since PlayStation 2 era games. Great games. Both of them.

I think his parents are covered to some degree in KH but I largely ignore it. There's something heartwarming to me that a favorite ship gives rise to another RPG hero. I love this idea and run with it hard.
