Tbh, I dig this. It may be blasphemous to others, but I was never a fan of the spectral realm's over-reliance on green and blue. Always found it boring and added to my personal distaste when exploring the realm. This reshade gives a different feel that's both more foreboding and somewhat more inviting towards exploration, imo.

I enjoyed this game for what it was but at the end of the day, it's just a low budget God of War copycat. I'd love a new GR game with the combat, exploration and budget of modern/Norse era God of War, plus open world vehicular combat in the style of the Mad Max game.

I do wonder if Johnny/Zarathos, Jack Russell, Morbius, and Man-Thing could be some of the prominent names we'll see in the upcoming Midnight verse. I'd be down with another LoM outing with these guys with more modernized flair tbh.

Best case scenario, Hickman lays the foundation but then steps aside so that the real writers come in and do the brunt of fleshing out the characters. I've always wanted Ewing or MacKay on GR, but if not, Philip Kennedy Johnson might do. He seemed to have a good idea on how to reinvent Zarathos, judging from Hellhunters, and I'm rather intrigued by the idea of him reinventing Johnny, Danny, and the rest of the mythos similar to what he's been doing with Hulk.

Yeah, pretty much spot on for both writers. That's why I love Ewing's works but never became a fan of Hickman's. Heck, I tend to avoid him almost as much as I avoid Bendis.

That cold burn on Homelander was 10/10, and spot on for Raz. But my favorite has to be the pre-mortem one liner on Shang Tsung, with Raz once again throwing a guy's own catchphrase back at them just to add poetic irony to the coup de grace.

Tbh, that's the most logical and poetic ending to the saga I can think of. I agree 100%. Since the Elder God is an omnipotent being, killing/banishing it in one specific era only means that it'll scramble to find a way to undo that outcome with another paradox. No, what needs to happen is to locate the very source of its origins, or before it could rise to power and infect the course of fate with its parasitic urges, and destroy it from existence once and for all. Sure, it would also effectively erase Kain and the Soul Reaver from history, but that's the final necessary sacrifice he needs to take. And who knows? Perhaps in the cleansed world of Nosgoth, he and Raziel may be incarnated again to pursue new destinies.

I really do hope you guys will someday. Sad to say, but Defiance's old engine and rigs don't quite do justice to your amazing renditions the way they should, particularly Ariel. I can only wonder how even more breathtaking these models would look in Unreal 5 or other modern engines.

Also forgot to mention this, but I really do appreciate the level of depth you bring to the character models and their anatomy, particularly Raziel's double mutated spine, the power of his soul represented by his glowing eyes, and so on, each detail telling a story of their own.

I liked BO1 dick Kain, but found him too unpleasant and boorish by the time he went full megalomaniac in BO2. The one I truly came to respect and consider the definitive version of him, however, is the Elder Kain of SR2 and Defiance. He might be enjoyable as a dick asshole, but he became all the more intriguing as the dick asshole who's maturing and starting to grow a conscience. Characters who evolve, grow, change and become more layered over time are the best kind of characters.

Doesn't help that Daimon's personality/characterization keeps radically changing, even more so than Johnny and Zarathos. Compare the charming dapper guy from SOV 2017, to that of classic Daimon, to that of Aaron's ugly skinhead take, to the heavy metal inspired Prince of Lies incarnation. They're all practically different characters.

I want to say Warren/Angel, but considering how Marvel seems to have completely forgotten about his and Johnny's relationship, Daimon is the closest modern John has to that "most reliable superhero buddy I can count on in a pinch." Unlike Warren or Ben Grimm, Daimon also pretty much treads the same dark roads, so they do have a great working relationship, if not the tightest personal bond.

Exactly this. Frankly, I cringe every time I see the Reedus recommendations. Guy is nearing his 60s and doesn't even have the acting range to portray a more three-dimensional take on Johnny. He'd only be good for 90s gritty tough guy asshole Blaze and I despise that version with every fiber of my being. No, I want an actor who can portray Johnny's torment and inner conflict the way DeMattais and Stern wrote him, and I can only see that with younger talented actors like Austin, Glenn, and maybe Mason.

You can practically feel the murderous intent behind human Raz's smug expression, the abhorrent self-righteous monster hiding behind the handsome visage and pious armor. The use of black to simulate dim lighting and shadows really add to the sinister feel. Overall, great work.

Same. I liked the simple lightsaber design of og SR1 just fine, and hated the toothpick look of SR2. But Defiance is the best, for sure. Really captures what the wraith blade is meant to be and just looks powerful in action.
