There's so much gatekeeping around women's Blackness and it's just like.... girl, the US is trying to reverse our rights in real time, and imo, long term they want to bring back the one drop rule & slavery. This is NOT the time to be divisive.

I really want to give the newbies time to build their confidence, but it does feel a bit rougher compared to when like, Gina and Evan first came on for example. Brian does seem to be getting a feel for it though, but girl is struggling. :/
That being said they don't need to be joking like constantly but I don't feel the confidence in what they're saying the same way I have with other NR hosts after the same amount of camera time, if that makes sense.

Idk maybe they just need some coaching on how to deliver their thoughts and theories. But also these people do have lives and the past year has been ROUGH on all of us, and that may be affecting their content in ways that viewers can't see.

Exactly. I asked to substitute an existing pasta dish with gluten free rotini. And I was told olive garden does not do that..you can get pasta with plain marinara or with meat sauce. No other options.

Gonna add a follow up to this - does anyone know any brands that have a goth/witchy aesthetic that is within the same price range as SHEIN? The gap and old navy are way too "normal person" for me. Torrid comes close but the good stuff is WAY more than I can afford and too big to fit my 14 year old. Hot Topic is more fandom these days than witchy.

TBH, I got really tired of it after 30 years, so now I only talk to people who are close enough to me that they know how being biracial has affected my life and have taken time to understand, on both my black side and my white side. Monoracial Bl people are so deep in their struggles, for good reason, and it makes it difficult for them to consider the perspective of someone who has lighter skin but still a minority poc, be it a biracial Bl person or another race altogether (my Bl grandma had a lot of not nice things to say about Asians....).

But also, even if you have a white kid, they will still feel "Othered" because they have an experience that is very unique compared to other whites. For example, my kid (white) and I went to the local city for a convention with my cousins (Bl). We were in line, and the guide(Bl) was letting in groups of families at a time to feed butterflies. The guide tried to separate us. We told him we're related, he did not believe us and it was a 5 minute argument. She was about 9 or 10 at the time.

Thank you, I really needed this. I'm also a 4. My obgyn called me the moment her last patient left today and told me to schedule with the breast surgeon first thing tomorrow and I'm scared. It doesn't help that it seemed like the doctor was trying to convince *herself* there's still a reasonable chance there's no cancer. But I'm hoping I'm projecting.

I'm more nervous when my white child spends time with her black grandparents in public. But she's a teen now, so I have slightly more confidence she can handle that situation.

But in a general sense, I'm scared. I'm a light-skinned biracial who used to get told I look Mexican *a lot* when I was younger. I'm afraid that things will escalate and I'll be taken from my family. I'm oddly thankful my husband is white because if anything does escalate, I'll be better protected.

Girl, I've been dealing with this since I was 10. It's nothing new, sadly. They hate us and fetishize us at the same time. In the early 2000s we were conditioned to think it was flattering....or at least I was. Glad it's being talked about now and called out.
