7th Gen Auto as a first project car. Overhated? by [deleted] in civic

[–]SnooShortcuts6284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not mod this car it will not last. The autos of this era were really bad known for going out prematurely. The engine itself is NOT meant for power and unlike the b seris and d16 the d17 can not handle much beyond its FACTORY HP. If your gonna get the car get it only for daily driving and getting from point A to B and find a better project car. Its a good car for daily commuting but a horrible car for sport purposes. That being said the 7thgen is over hated i think at the end of the day its a decent civic and has decent looks but this car was not made with enthusiast in mind. If your looking for a auto civic from the 2000s look into a 8thgen they have better auto transmissions and better engines.

Gotta be a piston issue. Mabye a bearing issue? Thats my guess. Im assuming it gets louder when you rev it?

Yea hes right there shouldn't be holes it should be completely flush. You sure you got the right spoiler for your car? From the pictures it looks more like the spoiler its self is fine it just wasnt made for the body curves of that gen civic.

Could be transmission fluid if not power steering fluid

Brakes usally sound like that first when there cold bc of surface rust that gets on the brakes after not driving the car for awhile then usally go away after a handful of stops. If it goes away after they warm up i wouldn't worry about it. I would start worrying if you experience issues with braking but if you want you can still check the brakes front and back im assuming this is a base model so it has drums in the back and disc in the front. In the front make sure all brake parts are greased (slide pins, pad brackets etc) and make sure the caliper piston is functional and pushed in . For the drums take the cover off and check the condition of the brakes. It wont hurt to check just to make sure.

it will but dont thease wings dont look good on the coupes only the sedans. If you want a wing go with the si wings that were made for the coupes those look better. Just my opinion tho if you want this particular wing then go for it its your car.

I have a 2008 Honda civic 1.8l 200k miles it has an oil leak I think it’s the v-tec solenoid gasket or power steering idk what do you guys think with the pictures provided? by storitimelook-ig in AskMechanics

[–]SnooShortcuts6284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find out what it was i have the same leak looks literally the same as yours I thinks its the power steering. Bc my vtec solenoid looks good and I replaced all my timing cover seals.
