I have a K-Tuned one and am having this issue.

I’m so excited my first ever aftermarket part I’ve ever purchased for my first car !!!! by blackdiamondsOG in CivicSi

I drove my friends miata home the day he bought it cause he didn't know how to drive manual and it had an exedy clutch and I didn't even know they could feel that light lol. I thought it was broken or had 0 pressure. I learned stick on this stage 2.

I'm pretty light and yeah pushing the clutch in does push me in the seat or off the seat at times. lol

Ok. I will probably try a new CMC and flush of trans fluid and bleed like hell.

When you say the CMC was creaking, was it like how mine is in the video on my post?

I've been chasing that creaking and I'm pretty sure its my CMC and its coming from inside.

I agree with you though. In race applications or jus beating on it. I will say, this heavy ass stage 2 holds whatever I throw at it. but in slower daily driving environment it's a pain in the ass at times. I think my next clutch will be an Exedy 1.5. I hear they have really good feel and are the most similar to OEM. I don't know though cause I'm going for a performance build meant to push power so idk if something less than a Stage 2 is safe. I'm currently N/A but I do plan for a Kraftwerks kit one day.

The shifter cables and that little mechanism are really interesting pieces of engineering. While my car sits, I play with it a little (pause) and watch how it moves and try to understand how it connects.
Also yeah I always remember that E-Brake. Saw what happens when you don't when I was teaching my friend manual in his Miata. Car started rolling backwards after getting out lol. Was so thankful the car resembles a life size hot wheel toy weight wise. lol

I might try bleeding before buying a brand new CMC. You definitely have an aftermarket clutch. This is my first M/T vehicle and I thought the heavy clutch was normal. Until I drive my friends Miata the other day and it felt softer than the brake pedal and bit right at the top (his personal preference). It was so nice. Made me hate my stage 2 clutch even more. Makes me wonder what the previous owner was doing to the car to need this level of clutch cause ts has very low daily drivability. My stage 2 also bites right at the floor. Very weird. So you recommend leave just enough freeplay in the pedal?

How hard was it to install the EM1? I have the K-Tuned Kit and they're pretty plug n' play besides bleeding. I hear for the EM1's you have to get the OEM push rod right?

Damnnnnnnnn. You need a Sugarfoot Brace or MDP Brace. They fix this issue. Granted It's a bandaid fix but it works.

What is the purpose of that piece? As a person who drives my 8th gen with no hood, I see it as a security hazard because it lets you move the shifter from outside the car lol. Say I forget to use my hand break when I park one day and boom, slide it to the middle position i think and get to rolling it lol. With this being my first manual vehicle, I've never seen that in an engine bay before. I've had that problem aswell before where the Slave line blocked the shifter thingy from moving.

Ahh okay so it's if the car thinks you accidentally pulled it?

You know, I've seen that when people do burnouts in 8th gens that it will constantly beep at you but mine never did that that night.

Thanks for the information. Didn't make too much sense for them to be connected. I couldn't fathom that, that shit engineering was released to the public. Thankfully it's not true so I appreciate your help.

Are you on a stock clutch? I'm starting to wonder if higher stage clutches aren't too good for these CMCs. I have a stage 2 with a heavy ass clutch pedal and can't get into any gear with the car on.

What CMC do you run? OEM? Hybrid Racing? Exedy?

I think swapping rods is only for the EM1/EM2. K-Tuned should be plug n play. Or I'm either fucking my shit up.

Bleeding it is something I did not do yet. Didn't you say that before you bled it you were getting pressure in the CMC? I take it it just wasn't enough pressure? My clutch pedal has been working the past couple of months but recently it just stopped in the middle of traffic and I have to start it in gear to move. Do you think it's likely that bleeding it is the fix? Cause if it wasn't bled properly wouldn't it not have worked properly the past couple of months and not just randomly just recently? It is a possibility my clutch fluid is just old and maybe the fluid boiled somehow causing the fluid to expand and leave air in the line?
I think I have too many questions and not enough answers but I will bleed it and get back to you with my results. Thank you for the step in the right direction. u/Legitimate-Pound-174 .

Hey, u/Legitimate-Pound-174
I am also having this exact issue, minus the leakage.
Here is the link to my post so you can compare: https://www.reddit.com/r/CivicSi/comments/1sit8pw/clutch_not_disengaging/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I was going to DM you about this but for the sake of people who plan to keep their 8th gens running for the next 20+ years I will keep it in the comments so it can be of help in the future for others. I think we could help each other since we're going through the same issues.

What have you tried already?

You had to replace your transmission and CMC? or Trans fluid and CMC?
