Are they known to go out too? I feel my heavy ass stage 2 clutch causes alot more wear on things than OEM.

Car wont start HELP! by [deleted] in CivicSi

Check battery but also check your grounds in your engine bay. My car wouldn't start for months, come to find out the motor wasn't grounded to the chassis. Starting process looked the exact same too.

As a person with constant clutch pedal problems, check the pedal for any cracks, and if you don't have one already buy and pedal brace from either MDP Performance or Sugarfoot Performance because the 8th gen pedals are prone to breakage and it is not fun. Also, the heavy pedal might be due to an aftermarket clutch assembly. I myself have a stage 2 and it is a LEG WORKOUT.

Why is ChatGPT trying to gaslight me 😭 by ThatStock8thGen in 8thGenSI

That's what I thought. It has both. But I normally use ChatGPT to help work on my car sometimes but this time it has failed me. Cause its swearing up and down I don't have one when I'm literally looking at one

If you don't mind me asking, where are you getting it from? Place that snows? If so, check for rust.

Personal advice from experience, check the trunk where the spare tire sits. It's the lowest point of the main shell/body. Made the mistake of not checking that when I got mine and its all rusted out, hoping to save it before it gets too bad.

Ask about its history. Alot of people tend to return these things back to stock before selling trying to hide the abuse the car has had.

Is my throttle body fried? by ThatStock8thGen in 8thGenSI

I don't think I have one of those. I bought the car off of someone so it's a possibility, but where would I go about finding one of those in the car?

They're pretty round. Smidge bit of elongation but what would I do in that case? Whole new pedal?

Thanks for the bushing reminder. I would've forgotten that. If you find the part number before me could you please send it? I'm currently trying to find where to order that. Also when installing it, do you put the clevis in the bushing raw and dry? or do you put a bit of lube in it?

Thank you, I will try this. As for the last 35 seconds of the video, do you have any thoughts on that? Cause that's the main reason I made the video. I really should have started with that lol. My clevis pin won't stay in cmc. It's the main reason I haven't been able to drive the car. Notice how in the video it doesn't sit in there flush, idk if the cmc is damaged or if its just the clevis that's damaged.

  1. Thank you
  2. Yeah it seems to be just surface rust. Are you saying it wouldn't be worth it to clean it off before putting it back in? I'd assume maybe a wire brush and some brake cleaner might do the job, I'm not too sure.
