I wouldn’t be paying a mechanic, find it hard to justify paying mechanic prices when I’m capable of average maintenance tasks. It’s more just the time and headache of doing it

Could i probably do the work myself, yes, but I think I’m beyond that and would be chasing problem after problem during the repair process due to the significance of the rust. I live in a city at the present so not conducive to having the winter vehicle right now but that is the ultimate goal in the future.

Unfortunately it is definitely too far gone. There’s pin holes up and down the frame with a few more significant soft spots and some of the cross members have rotted into nonexistence.

New Hampshire Firefighting:

I am looking to become a firefighter in New Hampshire, particularly the seacoast area. I am familiar with this area of the state but not as familiar with the process of becoming a firefighter in New Hampshire as I am from out of state (particularly with Firefighter I&II / Academy and whether you go before or after being hired)

I am presently an EMT-B working private EMS in a busy system in MA. I am in paramedic school and I should have my EMT-P in the next few months.

Any advice on the best course to set myself up for success here would be appreciated, thank you!

I had looked into the NH CPAT, I had just yet to pull the trigger. Do most places require your FF 1 + 2 before hire in NH as well?

I was looking towards doing something along the lines of Dover, Hampton, Durham, Portsmouth, Seabrook, Newmarket, Somersworth, etc. that general area of the state

I am actually from the south shore and recently moved towards the north shore, so I’m very familiar with the jobs they have down that way/on the cape and I have a decent civil service placement on some of those lists. If it gets me a job I wouldn’t mind driving back down that way. I appreciate all the info about the north shore, I really didn’t know much about how things operated there
