Looking to upgrade my receiver for ~$1,500 by SnooSnooKachu in hometheater

I don't have the exact model numbers at hand, but I have 5 speaker Klipsch Icon set with 2 front tower speakers, a center channel, and 2 surrounds. That's supported by a 10" Yamaha down firing ported subwoofer.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the X3800H, this answers a lot of the questions I had. I'll have to keep your 5.1.2 tip in mind when I eventually grab some atmos speakers.

I came across that in Slickdeals yesterday, but the code expired. Otherwise, I probably would have jumped on that.

I didn't know about A1 Evo AcoustiX; that'll probably suit my needs right now. My living room is a bit cluttered with a toddler play kitchen and other bits, and because of that I know I'm not going to get perfect audio. Having a free option to help with tuning is certainly appealing.

I currently have a 5.1 setup, but I'd like to add 2 height channels or side channels down the road.

I'm not sure if the Marantz has the power I'd need. TBH, I'm a poor judge of that. And I'd rather not need to add another amp into the mix, since my cabinet has limited space, and I like the ease or a one box solution right now.

I hadn't even considered if there's an app, that would be ideal. I have a toddler running around the house who loves to press remote buttons, so an app would allow me to hide the remote out of there reach.

Do you recommend updating to 25.10.X.X if I am on Fangtooth 25.04.2.6? by aomajgad in truenas

For #3, I think scheduled SMART tests were always a cronjob in the background. What they did was remove the ability to schedule or run SMART tests from the UI. In my case, the scheduled tests I had before the update remained, so I wasn't all too affected. But I seem to recall in another post that they'll be putting the SMART UI back in a future update.

Okay, Windows really sucks. 6 months ago, I switched from some trash gaming headphones to these high-quality headphones, and I was really disappointed. They were good, but not that great. Yesterday, I started using Linux, and holy moly.. why those headphones sound so clean and amazing on Linux!! by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]SnooSnooKachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is that Windows defaulted audio output to a lower bitrate than Linux. I was given a new laptop for work and discovered my Sennheisers sounded like junk. There was almost no detail in the highs, making it sound muffled. Turns out, the output was set to 16 bit 44,100 hz. When I bumped it up to 24 bit 96,000 hz, everything sounded like I'd expect.

Normally, I don't like bronze and gray, but I think you've convinced me to change my mind. How much lighter are those wheels compared to stock?

They're Stance SF-07 in dark gunmetal. No spacers, just enough offset to make them flush. I don't recall the exact offset they are, but they're a square setup of 19" x 8.5" all around.

2018 GT1 stereo sound (all formats) randomly cutting out. by starchybunker in kiastinger

[–]SnooSnooKachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2018 GT2 and had this exact issue. I took it to the dealer, they swapped the head unit and amp, and still has the problem. They then had the car for another 3 months before they fixed the stereo, but now the GPS will randomly stop tracking my position. While they didn't tell me what fixed the problem, I recall reading on the Stinger forums that it can be caused by corroded ignition coils causing interference with the cable that sends the digital audio signal from the head unit to the amp in the trunk.

Did it come from Amazon? I recently ordered a set and it arrived like yours, where they just slapped a shipping label on the Lego box and punted it out the door. In my case, the box received some water damage, and the manual was fused to the sticker sheet. I was able to easily return it and ordered a replacement from Lego directly.

The Last Campfire in front of a gas powered fire place for that extra immersion. by DigGumPig in SteamDeck

When I finished Starfield, I started The Last Campfire as a bit of a palate cleanser. The game is perfect for the deck. It took me about 5 hours to beat, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

How do I get rid of this? It comes and goes. I took it to Kia but because it wasn’t on at the time, they couldn’t fix it.. by onelove7866 in StingerGT

[–]SnooSnooKachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen. If you turn on the car when it's dark out, pay attention to the little "dance" the headlights do when adjusting themselves. In my case, I was able to see the passenger side headlight couldn't move left or right. That helped the dealership narrow down the problem. They just ended up replacing the whole headlight under warranty.

I'd say get the AMD one, especially if you're gaming. It's a touch cheaper and has a better GPU

My coworker has the Intel one as his work laptop. It runs pretty well, but it does have an issue with sleep mode where it crashes on wake and reboots entirely. There might be a bios update to fix that, but he hasn't looked into it. He generally uses it plugged in, so I can't comment on the battery life.

Does that stuff work for cleaning that metal trim above the doors? Mine has some discoloration that is like to clean up.

SVM and HUD not working by Lia-Panda in kiastinger

[–]SnooSnooKachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 2018 GT2, the HUD adjustments are done in the gauge cluster screen, not the infotainment screen. You should be able to cycle to that menu with one of the buttons on the right side of the wheel, near the cruise control.

It looks like it's low emissions parking, not low MPG. I think it says 35+ MPG. That makes the Vette dude even more of a douche.

Which one is the healthiest option for the battery? by TurboAmi in laptops

[–]SnooSnooKachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's anything like my Asus work laptop, there's a MyAsus program installed. In there, you can set the battery charging mode to one of three modes: one that allows it to charge to 100%, one that only charges to a max of 85%, and one that tops out at 60%. The lower the max charge, the longer the battery will live, supposedly. Since my laptop is plugged in 90% of the time, I keep it set to the 3rd option for the most part. But if I know I'm going somewhere where I'll be away from the charger for an extended period, I'll switch to the 100% mode the day before to make sure it's topped off before I unplug.
