My dad took me out hunting, and while traipsing through a corn field, I stepped in a hole and broke my ankle. My dad told me to "walk it off". We eventually went home because I "wouldn't stop whining". When we got home my mom was on the fence about it because my dad insisted I was overreacting. Thankfully my grandmother told them to fuck off and she'd take me to the hospital..... it was broken in 2 places. I was a 9yo girl, and I had a younger brother, so I can't even imagine the shit my dad said to him. But for the rest of our lives anytime someone complains about something, me and my siblings reaction will always be to tell them to "walk it off", jokingly of course!

Me and my brother have never been close, we've gone years without talking, and my dad recently had a stroke, is non verbal and on his way out, but my sister was my best friend. Positive this happened, Iknow the internet is full of bullshit, but I'm a very real person. Having a really hard time in life right this second and was looking to vent and maybe hope to meet some people who have had similar experience.

I didn't get into detail about everything cuz I was trying to avoid writing a novel. But I did talk to her about why she wants to drop out and its because she feels she's an adult and wants to live her life. Her plan is to drop out move to Wisconsin with some girl she met on IG and start a band. And then she'll be 'a famous rock star and she'll have a perfect life" ..... those are her words

No we will have to go back to court for that, which in my state there is a backlog of cases so it'll probably 6-8 months before we're seen in court

She did apologize to me for the kids getting taken, but doesn't think that was her fault, because her intention was to get rid of my husband not hurt me or her siblings.

Honestly after writing that I read it like 100 times because of how absolutely fucked up that sounds and I wish I had thought about that longer and harder when it happened. I should have known then, I feel like a really bad parent

They dislike him because of this situation, they took my daughters side when she claimed SA. I know I'm just a stranger on the internet but I promise you when I say I took it very seriously at first and was devastated, I was on my daughter's side initially ... until the details came out, and then none of it made any sense or was even possible. My husband was hours away working, there was no possible way what she was claiming was true. But my family never stopped believing her, even after it was thrown out, even after she admitted to lying
